Nah, bro it was just a joke... I can see why you would want to root for Chipper.. I just had to stick up for my team, makes it harder that I am the only Cards fan in here right now but that's cool..

Both championships since 82 were lucky.

But it's all good. The Dodgers were lucky in '88 too

luck is always part of the equation

sometimes it's as simple as being lucky none of your key players get injured

There's the famous saying: "I'd rather be lucky than good."

    Couldn't agree more with it.

Getting to the playoffs takes health/talent for the most part, but the playoffs is a crapshoot and anything goes.

I guess you guys are right sometimes in sports you have to have luck on your side.. Luck is apart of baseball, I just took it too heart.. Heck, I mean I am in the Dodgers forum room why would I think you guys would be talking good about other teams.. I get carried away sometimes but that is apart of being a fan you want to stick up for your team.

Unless you're talking about the Dodger offense; they don't deserve to be stuck up for.

Thanks for that... I do not see how any Dodger fan could pull for the hated ones to the north.
I can't stand to even type their name...

only way would be if it helped us in the standings, and it would probably still be tough...

I know that it has been hard for you guys to watch and some of the games that I have watched has been bad... On the other hand the Dodgers let Matt Kemp come back to early even when he got hurt the first time.. Kemp wasn't himself and all the pressure became too much for him and he was trying way to hard when his teammates should have picked him up. In my opinion without Kemp the Dodgers offence isn't going to do anything and if the team thinks some major deals gets them in the playoffs without playing the games they are getting a reality check.. I do like the Dodgers and the history of the team but the front office waited to late to push all these super stars together, I think it would have been better if they could have gotten this done before the trading deadline.. All in all bro, you've got to always stick up for your team regardless of what they are doing, that my friend is a true fan and I know you are one of those...

It was said that they tried very hard to do just that. I guess they couldn't work the trade for AGon out with BOS. Not sure what changed or what was different. Perhaps the Dodgers didn't want to take all that salary from the bad contracts at the deadline but desperation kicked in as the season slipped away. Maybe BOS wasn't going to trade their best offensive player fearing fan backlash but then realized it would be a good move to rebuild after more and more players vs. manager stuff occured.

For sure. They'll definitely be much better next year. No doubt in my mind about it. Just frustrating as hell. Most of the frustration is more from the Dodgers being ragged on and coming off as this choke job team to the critics. That, IMO is more frustrating than just sucking. Like TB posted, there are people writing this team off as an 85 win team next year. That's complete ludicrous. I guess it'll be sweeter when we prove them all wrong.

Boston wasn't as desperate to get rid of Beckett and/or Crawford at the deadline.

This trade is going to be awesome for the Dodgers. Beckeet already looks really good and AGon will be fine. The key(s) to the trade are how Crawford plays and what RDLR turns out to be.

Bro if there is one thing I learned from the Cardinals last year.. It doesn't matter what the hell those ass clowns are talking about.. Yes, they are talking shit and that would make any fan go off the chain, but those bitches don't know what the Dodgers are going to do in the offseason... They could go out and get a Edwin Jackson to replace someone like Harang or a Kyle Loshe which has been nails for the Cardinals... When the Cardinals won the 06 World Series man the starting rotation had some no names in there and we still won... Okay so lets say Kershaw and Bills are fine and ready too go for next year, then you have Beckett... That my friend is a damn good rotation and then you go out and get a starting pitcher like Lohse or Jackson... To tell you the truth it doesn't matter what the hell those people are saying you never know until next year comes...

... I know that no one on the Dodger boards wants to hear about the Angels but they too have a bloated staff with meager results and may well miss the playoffs too...

    just saying

You guys have hit the nail right on the head... The Angels went out and signed some of the biggest fish this past offseason (Pujols & Wilson) and now they are getting out played by the A's and O's.. They also went out and got Grenike from the Brewers and where has this put the team, well looking from the outside of the playoff picture... There main team was put together in the offseason and had the chance to play together for all of spring training and also the hole year to this point. The Dodgers on the other hand have dealt with injuries like every other team and when they make a move its not until the last couple months of the year.. There is a such thing as chemistry in this game and the Dodgers never got to get too that point.. I for one hope the Angels don't make it and its not because they signed Albert Pujols either tho it would be cool for the Cards to get in and him be out but never mind that its because you can't always buy a championship... The Angels should have learned something from the Red Sox from last year... Everyone was saying its going to be the phillies and the Red Sox going to the World Series but we all knew what happened there.. The Red Sox wanted to try and buy there way and it looked damn good on paper but you still have to play the games.. The Dodgers are going to be a team too look out for and I hope the Cardinals make some moves bc they aren't going to be like this next year....
