So then, the FO stories have been spread knowingly, although untrue and fabricated to a great degree, you're saying? Propaganda, LAD style?
Sounds positively Goebbelesque...worked for a while for Josef, then ended in a most horrific way. An utter and total failure. Cyanide pill, anyone?
Hope they have better luck with the Cuban, if your premise is true.

My :2cents: on the Ethier situation. I hope he comes back and plays well, but realisticaly I think after an entire season off he's gonna play hell catching up to any decent heater thrown his way, and if it has movement...fahgedditaboudit.

I still hope he comes back better than before though.

See ya next year, Ethier...which will be his LAD swan song if he's not traded before then.
    Time marches on.
He couldn't even catch up with 95MPH when he was healthy and productive last year.

Ethier was shit last year? News to me

Look, I'm not expecting a lot from Dre and he is a platoon player who doesn't help vs our problem LHP but that's just a flat wrong statement

Look, I'm real comfy driving the "Ethier needs to prove he's anything but an old broken platoon player" bandwagon

Love to be wrong but.. age doesn't lie

I'm sure Ethier has 1B in his future, just not with LAD.
Far more than anything else, that Adrian/Ethier age comp just makes me appreciate Adrian that much more as a hitter since he's always handled both LHP and 95+ better than Ethier has.
However, Ethier was not shit last year.
He obviousy shriveled up against 95+ in the post season, to no surprise, but I don't know how anybody can say he was shit with the production he offered during the reg season..that's just irresponsible.
That being said, keeping it all in the proper perspective, the FO still couldn't get sufficient trade offers for Ethier last off season and the one before that, so Ethier has a friend in Puig on those terms.
Nobody's falling all over themselves to add either guy to their team and that's the same way I feel about having either for the post season, where there are fireballers waiting to mow them down with ease.
You absolutely ride a Reddick [no homo], who's been more proficient in catching up with 95 than either one of them, against RHP.
But, TBT, this is all really too much back and forth over a guy like Ethier who's more than likely only seen as a PH option if anything at all in the post season.

i dont think the brewers would entertain a deal of Ethier for Braun.
    But for Puig.

Buddy I'm not willing to send Puig off just yet

(holding out a somewhat irrational hope that his shit gets gathered together, and soon)

Braun is a hell of a player.
In LF his defense should be less of an issue.
IMO we have so much young talent in the pipe for the future and for today that we could sacrifice some of the middling talent for players that fit into the Kershaw/Turner/Grandal/Kenley prime age group of 27 to 31.
They are supported by a good number guys around their mid thirties who are still playing well.
The Dodgers should strike while they have that prime core alongside the aging veterans who still produce.
Corey and Urias belong to the young core that will be in their prime for many years going forward.
The 20 to 26 group includes our young future like studs like Bellinger and JDL.
Guys brought in to help us win a ring like Braun and even Reddick if he resigns can be traded for more prospects in the future.
But i would prefer we deal for a superb 2B since that is the position we could most readily upgrade at without blocking any prospect.
I doubt our top 2B prospect will play that position in the pros, he is too short for 1B so he probably ends up a LF.
And we are full of LF types already.

just saying that not so long ago a 25 year old stud like Puig would have been called part of the future Dodgers core
