after the game i gave up my keys and my kids bf drove us back. we went to the local thai bar and i seriously don't remember everything after that. the waitress was nice and i think i should ask her out. my head hurts.
yes, but not for this situation the cards light him up historically as well imo he should have stayed on the roster instead or marmol or volquez no, i'm talking about greinke who dbb & co were apparently considering up until nearly game time... Ken Gurnick @kengurnick 16 OctMattingly said he flip-flopped several times before deciding that Nolasco would start Game 4 and not Greinke on short rest.1:07 PM - 15 Oct 13 really special to give him a start at home in front of his family and friends too bad that kind of shit doesn't matter in the big scope of things... when you're trying to get even in a series you are now all but dead in but sure, give the ball to a guy with a horrible history against the cards a guy who hasn't pitched in 21 days meanwhile you've got a former cy young winner sitting on the bench a guy who would be the ace on just about any other team with a history of doing well on short rest... Dylan Hernandez @dylanohernandez 15 OctZack Greinke has pitched on 3-days' rest twice in his career. In those two starts, he pitched a combined 9 innings and gave up 2 runs.12:30 PM - 15 Oct 13Dustin Nosler @FeelinKindaBlue 15 Oct#Dodgers MT @ESPNStatsInfo: Since 2007, Zack Greinke has the 6th-best ERA in MLB on 3 or fewer days rest (min. 4 starts).1:21 PM - 15 Oct 13 in a game you need to win yeah, that's just not a good call imo
it can be done but if hanley attitude is any indicator of where this team is at... idk but he was just slump shouldered, drop all his shit at the plate and walk away after a strikeout defeated yesterday. looked like he gave up to me.

I'm glad we have Greinke in this must win game...a bigger must win than yesterday ever was. The biggest must win of the year. and after that, the next biggest must win of the year, and we have Kershaw, and then Ryu in the super duper biggest...GET IT?
Yeah, my big point about this way being better was: try to imagine game 6 being an elimination game, and we have Nolasco on 20+ days rest, in St. Louis, vs. Michael wacha. Yikes
LOL @ people thinking we win last night if greinke pitched...like it was a guarantee. It doesn't work like that. We lost the 2 first games with Greinke and Kershaw on normal rest.
Well I sure wish we had that 50's lineup out there, bro. Sometimes what they did in the old days, was good, sound stuff, and the only path to get the brass ring. Not all old shit is bad....remember P-51's and mini skirts? All good in my world. Not to mention those Boys of Summer. If your the Cards, or Detroit, you can get down to your 4 starter because they are as good as it gets....but after the Ryu, the Korean Kufu, we're pretty light in the loafers. We absolutely have not assembled a pitching staff like they have. All season long is one thing, but the playoffs are another. If something don't happen today, I'll be watching the Raiders lose for sports enjoyment and that will be that. Isn't anybody else tired of this same old puke? For Christ's sake, we've had good teams before, but always "one player away" from doing it...what's the excuse now? How many away are we still? Maybe we do it, IDK. I sure fucking hope so.
Yep, lots of good things from the old days I get that. Old cars, aircraft, oh shit yeah! There's also change that's for the good, like smoking while holding your baby and watching The Rifleman, not wearing a seatbelt, not letting black players in MLB, having cocaine in Coca Cola, etc. It's illogical and unrealistic to think there is going to be a 3 man rotation in the post season nowadays. We had to use one of Nolasco/Volquez/Capuano at least once in a start. We picked a game that was beneficial to the whole staff. Proper rest for the others, Nolasco at home in a night game, vs. their worst pitcher, etc. Too bad our bats shit the bed and Hanley is busted. Contrary to popular belief, it was not a must win game. We still get to play again...and here we are in a real must win game and we have our best 3 pitchers all ready lined up on proper rest instead of 1 or 2 on three days rest.
I agree with Ford - I don't blame Nolasco nearly as much as the bats. Ricky was rested, he did well for us during the season and deserved a start. Holliday, the fucker, took him deep and that shit just happens from time to time. Clearly, we needed more runs. The big problem for us, actually, was losing the first two games in the series. Now we need to rumble.
Like I said earlier, it's all on the offense. Nolasco made a mistake, but we had opportunities to win the game. Hell, we should be 3-1 if the offense could get it's head out of its ass for more than one game and score.
^With a lineup like that, I was briefly thinking how someone might kneecap DBB before the game. Maybe one of the coaches grabs a bat and pulls a Tonya Harding on him and then takes over the helm. Poor Donnie, sitting on the floor of the dugout screaming, "WHY~~~~ WHY~~~~~~~~". Then I read it was just a joke. :irish:
