Mark Saxon of ESPNLosAngeles.com reports that it "appears quite likely" the Dodgers would start Clayton Kershaw on short rest in a potential NLDS Game 4. Manager Don Mattingly side-stepped the question Tuesday, saying "we wouldn’t even think about it until we see what would happen in Game 1 or what kind of situation we’ll be in." However, Mattingly used Kershaw on short rest in last year's NLDS and the left-hander pitched well. Also, Kershaw threw a simulated game Sunday, four days after his final regular season start, a move Saxon thinks is "seemingly intended to get his body used to short rest." Using Kershaw in Game 4 would mean he and Zack Greinke would start four times if the NLDS went five games. The club is hoping Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder) is ready for Game 3. If Ryu is ready and Kershaw goes on short rest, Dan Haren would be ticketed for long relief. Sep 30 - 7:12 PM
all they wanted from Shields was the lead after the 6th inning, so they could turn it over to their bullpen..Yost yanked Shields too fast and doubled his mistake by going with a kid who's never been in that spot. no surprise..Yost over-manages all the time. panicked and cost his team multiple runs when Shields probably could've kept it to a 1 run inning.
Yeah, Yost is pretty terrible. Went with a starter on short rest with zero relief pitching experience. If you've followed the royals this year, you see that they've won in spite of Yost. He's terrible
i think Shields would've probably kept it to a 1 run inning, if anything at all. i've seen Shields work out of those jams in big spots before. Shields almost looked like he wanted to choke somebody on the bench. Lol he had a murderous look on his face.
True, you all are right. Shields should have stayed in, but allowing 2 to get on in front of Moss was pretty inexcusable
damn, it would've been so great if Oakland would've lost the WC game after making the Lester/Samardzija trades. KC was probably 1 inning away from locking it down
Lol at least we now know that Puig isn't the only talented newcomer that has shitty ABs from time to time..Salvador Perez looked like a fuckin idiot there
from his first cut, i knew it was over. Lol swingin for the fences from the start. he just sat there and watched Gordon get pitches in the dirt and knew they were lookin to get a double play out of him and he STILL went up there hacking 1-2-3. smh i hope Puig was taking notes..that's exactly how stupid he looks sometimes.
Omg, Perez should have just laid his bat down and said I don't want the at bat... Douche bag could have at least tied the friking game.
