Have you noticed who the manager is? It will happen...no matter how good he is going, eventually he will revert to his true nature.
I think Kershaw talked DBB into letting him go out for the eighth...and in doing so, may have cost himself an L...and who knows? Maybe so much more.... Just my tuppence...
Oh, BTW...nice job Hatcher. I guess it must be a glitch in the trajectory of the BP...like our GM says.
Can't score even one for CK to get him off the hook. Damn. If DBB had done his homework,he would have known RH hit Melancon way better than LH...typical R/L bullshit from him.
At 1st I was mad that RR didn't send Seager home and make the Pirates make a play. They're a bad defensive team. But then I thought about it again and shit...Seager is the franchise. Even if he didn't mean to do it, RR protected him there. Seager likes to slide head 1st and these plays at the plate can be dangerous. Gettem next time. G.Cole hasn't been all that sharp as of late...perhaps running into some fatigue I guess. Homecoming for him tho, so that could spark him.
I wonder what RR will do in the playoffs then on a similar play? Sounds like he can' t worry about the "franchise" to me...you've got to play ball. Do what you have to to win the game...it's not like a death sentence. Sending a guy home on what might be a close play is verboten because the guy is valuable property? Wow... Sad pussy shit, IMO.
The same situation arising in the playoffs would be different terms. We probably won't find out why RR didn't send him home last night, but perhaps the answer is right under our noses? Perhaps RR just felt like Seager would be out at home and he'd rather have him at 3B with 1 out? Regardless, again, even if RR's goal wasn't to protect Seager that's exactly what happened there, so there was good in the call...especially when you consider that the battle for a playoff spot is pretty much already won, that Seager is indeed the franchise, and that our only other legit play at that position is hurt right now. It's all good. Live to fight another day.
Damn, I hope he didn't send him because he thought he was a dead duck...that's what I thought all along...until your "save the franchise" aspect came up. However, I still the kid had a shot at scoring, and I would like to have seen him take it.It's not so bad that we lost in the scheme of things, but who did, and how. And not sending him in your possible context, is, and always will be, real pussy shit, as I said. It may be all good as you see it, but we've had lots of "another days"...for years, and came up big zeroes. We need to fight tooth and nail, all the time, and change the usual wimp outcome, once and for all.
The former is a reasonable theory and one you should stick with. The latter is your misinterpretation of what I said.
Los Angeles Dodgers @Dodgers 2m2 minutes ago Today's #Dodgers lineup: Dodgers: Crawford LF Utley 2B Seager SS Ethier RF Grandal C Van Slyke 1B Pederson CF Guerrero 3B Bolsinger P Seager in the 3 spot with regulars, big baby.
thought brett was pitching today either way, we've got our work cut out for us today to win this series but i like the lineup dbb has put together even jerry's butt buddy guerrero is in there nice job mattingley
It'd be nice to see another leadoff HR by LAD. Get on the board early. Even if it's just 1 run...give Bolsinger a lead to work with.
