But then again they put a September call up, who apparently is irrelevant to them(?) on the playoff roster?
like I said and how Friedman said, thats about being able to use Ruiz as a pinch hitter against lefties since if he's the main back up catcher, you can't do that. And its preferable to have him pinch hit against lefties rather then Rob or Enrique
until he wins a game for us.. in the playoffs. I was saying Fuck Culberson until his big HR and with Kike playing like loose fecal debris agree that it was right to give Charlie the roster spot Ruiz is OK so far... but what have you done for us lately??
Andy McCullough @McCulloughTimes 24m24 minutes ago Julio Urias will start Game 4, Dave Roberts says. Unless the Dodgers are down 1-2, he does not want to use Clayton Kershaw on short rest.
The decision to put Barnes on the roster paid off big time in the NLDS, since Ruiz was able to pinch hit twice and Barnes was a pretty good pinch runner Wonder what they'll do for NLCS. Might swap out Dayton for Wood, but I wonder if they add another pitcher... can't think of which hitter they'd drop since all of the bench guys contributed in one way
I'd do Dayton for Wood and consider Kiké for Culberson. Also looks like they're considering Stewart for Stripling as Stewart threw on Tuesday. Would be interesting if they planned to give Stewart Game 4 and instead use Urias like they did tonight once or twice. I wouldn't do that but Stewart did pitch well against the Cubs
No no no No Wood for Dayton though that's plausible No Kike for Culberson.. highly implausible No Stewart for Stripling.. Stripling has looked solid
I could see them taking Fields off the roster in favor of Wood to maybe get more innings out of the pen, but I don't see Stewart getting the nod over Urias at this point. Kikay makes sense for Culberson for basically one scenario, he is good at one thing at this point and that is hitting the FB from a lefty. I'm not sure that Culberson is that guy, but he does have a 2.000 OPS vs Chapman. BTW, the team as a whole is 3-31, 5 BB, 15 K's vs Chapman. Culberson 1-1, Ruiz 1-5 2B 1BB 1K, Puig 1-3 K.
fuck it don't fix it if it ain't broke that said... after how the lds worked out, i'm gonna have to trust whatever roberts et al decide
You gotta be able to bunt.* *unless you're Juan Uribe, that's the one fucker exempt from the bunt rule
Looks like Brett Anderson is an option as well and he's in Chicago They're going to go with 12 pitchers so they'll be adding a pitcher, removing a hitter. Interesting to see which hitter they remove between Charlie, Barnes and Ethier
I was wondering if they would do that. I think Barnes is the odd man out, he's really the luxury position player. If Culberson is left off the roster he has to be replaced by Kiké or someone who can handle 2B/SS. And Ethier has way more value than both as a PH. Last night the team showed they don't mind burning all the catchers late and just figuring it out if there's an emergency.
