Stanton looks unhappy to me, really in FL ( just my uncanny ability for human insight), and hits really long HRs, looks boffo in a wife beater, will absolutely be he new Rock in super hero movies in the near future, but all in all, he is more sturm than drang. Which makes no sense actually, but you get it.
    Caucasian, please...

Am I the onlyone who feelsthat the Hill adulation is just a little overboard?? A little?
Yeah, he won...great. But putting the bp through 4 innings after his minimum ( just barely, too) 5 to get the W, is getting old and even older more than halfway through the season.
I just feel Morrow and Fields have a lifespan to there effectiveness, Avilan is always a crap shoot, Baez who knows, I don't count Romo at all...so a little longer from the afore mentioned super hero, Hill, would be uh,...super. Even duper.
Y'know, so these guys aren't sacks of worn down shit like they were before the ASG break...like come Sept.

I agree and think that lifestyle would be tough to take down there.
Maybe he's gonna have to resort to competing with Gaspar Gomez and the Diaz Brothers for some excitement? :D :D

I agree he fits into our plans in 1-2 years but so could Harper or Otani (when he is not pitching). I would also not be adverse to makin a trade for Stanton. I know he has a ton of money on his contract but that might allow MGT to get him for less prospects.

Well, this is the first 5 inning game he has went in a while. The last 3 he went 7 innings. Yeah it is a bit overboard but at this point for the money the Dodgers are stuck with and the threat of the damn blister, I am thrilled he is going out there every rotation spot and giving at least 5 innings.

might be all alone on this...
but i wouldn't trade turner straight up for stanton
yes stanton is undeniably a beast
but turner is the heart and soul of this dodger team
and (also undeniably) a bigger asset defensively
tbh hard to think of a deal i'd be willing to include in... at least for this season

I'd be more worried if he went 5, walked 4, struck out 2 and gave up a few runs. When he goes 5, strikes out 9 and only gives up one run, I am fine with that on occasion. Especially since he coulda gotten out of that one run had he not knocked that ball down. If the bullpen wasn't so rested, I could have seen him potentially going 6, but there was no need to last night.

You are not......I would not trade Turner for Sale. There is something to be said about chemistry. I believe part of our failure last year was because Ellis was traded to Miami. Not a huge part but i believe it played a small part.

Agreed!! As long as he is productive I am thrilled. I am still worried that blister will rear its ugly head.

There is NO reason to trade Turner for Stanton.
    I cant think of one.
Unless we believe that Turner is about to become Adrian Gonzales.

Those are all high-price solutions, not to mention we could add one of those guys and still have a spot for Verdugo (2019 OF could be Joc, Verdugo, Harper). The other issue is who would we trade Verdugo for? Right now I don't see a player that gives us a big enough upgrade to part with him.

It will be interesting to see what the FO does. So far, when they say they won't trade a certain player, they don't trade that player. Unless the FO is sold on someone else in the system being a better OF fit in 1-2 years (Jeren Kendall?), then I think we need to hold onto Verdugo.

Also, FWIW - you and I will have to disagree on Stanton. I want no part of that albatross contract.:poke:

I was with you until you went there.
Remember Dee and how he wasn't going anywhere?
You were probably targeting prospects there, but they have done the 180 before in general

All that said, I would gladly put Verdugo in a package of Verdugo, Joc, Alvarez, and Calhoun to get Mike Trout.

I wouldn't trade Turner for anyone not names Mike Trout. Might sound crazy, but I agree with you. He found a home here and has been getting better every year he's been with us. Love that red headed bastard.

For 2 years I have said that the Dodgers and Angels need to make a trade. It totally makes sense. The angels could fill a ton of holes by sending Trout over. Id even add Lux and Sheffield to that trade to get Trout.

Empty that farm, we can rebuild it again.
    Trout is worth it.
Imagine Trout leading off and then Seager, Turner, Belly, etc...
