The Pirates are like a drunk, fat bridesmaid at a wedding. Her hot friends tying the knot, the other bridesmaids are with their boyfriends, and there she is; drunk and lonely in the corner ripe for the picking. Really fun game, glad to see people contributing. I really like the cut of Punto. No superstar but goes hard and can do the basics right and have quality, intelligent AB's. What's the report on his SS/3B/2B fielding abilities? Btw Kemp +1, Crawford +1 Ethier - pass this game for sig.
He's getting a bit older so I'd believe the D is declining, but I believe he's above average with the glove. His arm/range is probably going down a bit so I'd say he's probably an above average defender at 2B, maybe slightly at 3B and maybe average at SS. Kinda spitballin, but I mean he's known more for D than his offense.
Great series. 4-2 to start the season despite the fact that our offense has been mediocre. We are going to be extremely hard to beat once the offense starts clicking, and I am confident it will soon.
Dat's what I'm talking about, yesterdays' game. Woke up offense, and Ryu looked way better. Although it was a shaky first inning, he got his shite together pretty well. Gonzo with the RBI stroke...excellent. The BP looks so-o-o solid. JP Howell looking like the LH answer. Loved that our big HR man, Justin Sellers, finally with a long ball. Three tied for the team lead, oddly, a pitcher, ss replacement, and a guy who is supposed to hit 'em. That was a pretty good shot for the little guy. To me, the most important move was that DBB didn't go with the same stagnant lineup. A little shaking up (when the team is hitting as miserabl as it was) sometimes works wonders. It seems to me, that is always the best policy, since you lose nothing when the team is doing doing minimally. Punto should play more, I think. Cruz now the only no hits for 13 guy left. WTF, Luis? BTW, who is the "other" starter? Capuano?
