This one would hurt 100x more than 2010 and 2012....at least in those years, the Giants won the NL West while we couldn't even qualify for the playoffs. This year, we destroyed the Giants head to head down the stretch and ran away with the West....I posted that I thought we were the only ones that could stop them from winning it this year during the NLDS, and I'm afraid I was right. KC did go 3-0 vs them in the regular season, but as we've seen countless times, the Giants are a different animal in the playoffs. At least speed doesn't slump, and KC has plenty of that..

I woke up this morning, driving to work, and every freakin radio station....from the local NPR affiliate, to the sports radio, to rock/pop/alternative/classical stations, they all were mentioning the Giants going back to the WS, and I just wanted to turn around and go back home. God it sucks.

But as much as I hate to admit it, until we win a WS......not just go to one, but actually win one......we have nothing to say to the Giants fans that say they have a better team and organization. It's patently true. It's a measurable truth, and it's pretty much been that way for a long time, relatively speaking.

It's sickening, and I hope it stops very very soon.

But realistically, the changes that need to be made by the Dodgers to get to, let alone win, a World Series will take time. It's structural. It's cultural. Getting new ownership was just the 1st step. Now it's getting a new President/GM that will install his own philosophy about how a team should be constructed. Then he has to get those players. Then he has to, in my opinion, get a manager that plays into that system and the strengths/weaknesses of the players he has. Then they have to gel as a team. Then......it's all about how it plays out in the field. It may work. It may not.

The Giants found that formula, and it's borne fruit. It keeps producing. We're talking about the Angel Pagans, plugging in Marco Scudaro, getting BP help with Affeldt, Machi, finding spot pitching in Petite, finding talent like Posey, and just instilling hard-nosed, smart baseball. God I wished the Dodgers had that....kept producing that.....and executing that on the field.

It really sucks living in the Bay Area while the Giants are raking, the 49ers look good, and LA doesn't even have a football team, and their two baseball teams don't even make it out of the divisional series.

it sucks to hear, but you're right. We may have more talent, but we've had that for two and a half years now, and we've done nothing with it. Meanwhile the gnats are poised to win another title with a bunch of guys you wouldn't expect.

I think if we get smarter in how we go about building our team, we can go farther. Too many guys with air between the ears on this team won't take us far.

All so true...the BB stuff. The other sports I don't care about. It's not a city thing for me, that's why when they moved from Brooklyn, it meant nothing to me at all. Never did. I can see why it is to some, but it's the team for me. I would be a Nashville Dodgers fan if that's where they played.
What is so odd in this whole "waiting forfuckingever" for Ned to get dumped scenario, that we now enter a "rebuilding phase" with the highest payroll in the sport. Something is listing about 30 degrees to port, I fear. That's the legacy Ned has left, forget about raising the bar bullshit. More like he was at the bar getting loaded and raising glass after glass, dribbling on himself.
There is something intrinsically wrong with that, but I guess that's the way it'll go.
This isn't the Al east either, there is no team like the Giants anywhere else in BB, let's face it, we have the complete opposite of post season magic -we have post season choke, on so many levels, and the FO thinks DBB is "just fine". Even this new one; I mean, if that's not half-steppin', then what is?
Well see. I hope this kid is worthy of all the lonely Dodger eyes being cast toward him. Because it is getting real lonely every fucking year.
I remember Billy Beane and all "the magnifcence" he brought. Billy ball was the talk of the town. Still is, sometimes. Brad Pitt even played him in a movie...but bottom line, tell me, WTF has he ever done? Won the ALDS sure, and cheaply...but 1989 was the last time they won it all isn' it? Only one year less than us...for less, too. Definitely didn't cost as much for them to be "elite" under Billy...no way.
