This team has always fucked with the Dodgers. However, the boys did beat them 4-3 during the regular season last year. Winning 3 of 4 is a real possibility........depending on how the bats are "swinging". Pitching should be solid, and the way Greinke has been pitching he should be pissed off and pitch a good one. Kershaw has pitched like a MF'er of late......and should continue to do so. Beckett and Ryu are the only question marks I have, but these guys are fairly consistent and that is comforting.
I want to sweep those bkitches. Wanted Hanley to line one off of Joe Kelly's ribs but he is already on the DL
I hope they fucking crush Wainwright and we sweep these mother fuckers. I think we win 3/4 but hope for the sweep. I bet if we sweep them badly then they will immediately go and trade for David Price! haha Fuck the cards!
Hanley was on fire and unstoppable vs the Braves and it was the first at bat of the NLCS. I agree. First two games, we lost because our offense was absolute shit...had we had a healthy Hanley, we at least split.
Wainwright, Beckett square off to open set in L.A. Dominant starters look to inch second-place teams closer in divisions By Alex M. Smith | MLB.com After the Cardinals lost starting pitcher Shelby Miller to back spasms in the third inning of Tuesday's game, their rotation officially descended into chaos. Joe Kelly, Michael Wacha and Jaime Garcia are already missing because of injury, and St. Louis had to use five relief pitchers after Miller exited. There is no official word on whether Miller will be available for his next start. That means that Carlos Martinez (three career starts) and Marco Gonzales (moved from Double-A to the Majors on Wednesday for his first start) might need to hold down spots in the rotation. "It wasn't exactly how we lined it up," manager Mike Matheny said after Tuesday's game. The good news for St. Louis is that two-time All-Star Adam Wainwright will be on the hill Thursday. Wainwright (10-3, 2.08 ERA) has been outstanding this year, and he is an early Cy Young Award candidate in the National League. He held Philadelphia to one run in eight innings on Saturday in his latest outing, and that was after a 10-day layoff with elbow tendinitis. He kept Tampa Bay scoreless in seven innings on June 10. The ace's ERA is good enough for second in the Majors (behind Cincinnati's Johnny Cueto at 1.86). "Unbelievable," Matheny said. "This guy has just been so good. Taking a little break and coming back as sharp as he is, I don't know why I'm surprised, but to be as sharp as he is with a little time off, he looked like the Adam we've watched all season." Wainwright feels good despite missing time. "It felt like a normal arm," Wainwright said. "The game in Tampa Bay, even though I had decent results, that didn't feel good at all. It hurt. We got all that calmed down. … I don't know how many days I missed, nine or 10 days there. It felt like an eternity. It was the right move. It was the smart play, and I'll be ready for the rest of the season." The Dodgers will counter with Josh Beckett (5-4, 2.28 ERA), who has also been magnificent this season. The 34-year-old shut down the Padres in San Diego on June 21, tossing seven scoreless innings while giving up just four hits. "If I get seven and 100 pitches, that's a pretty successful night," Beckett said. "At this point in my career, I'm not a complete-game guy. My stuff is not as good. I try to battle with what I have and get through six or seven innings." This is the two teams' first meeting since October, when the Cardinals defeated the Dodgers, four games to two, in the NLCS. Worth noting Beckett has not given up more than four earned runs in a game all season (14 starts). Despite giving up just seven earned runs over his past five games, he has earned losses in three of them. Wainwright has allowed zero earned runs seven times in 15 starts. His ERA was down to 1.67 on May 25 before he gave up seven earned runs to the Giants. The Dodgers have won 12 of their past 17 games, a stretch during which they have moved from 9 1/2 games behind the Giants in the NL West to only three. Alex M. As is pretty much the norm, it's usually the Dodgers lineup that can't do shit...it has it's weekly explosion, and the rest of requires great games by most of the SP and a very suspect BP. I mean, Wilson flat out sucked last night, and he must have made a sacrifice to the BB gods before the game. We would have at least been tied, but it does show what a difference good D makes. Guys like Hanley, who just can't stay on the field, Ethier who has turned into a milquetoast hitter for some reason (3 HRs at this point?) and the miserable relentless nothing from Agon is just a killer. Puig has hit the ball hard, but that doesn't mean anything unless it touches the ground or goes over or through. Kemp showed up with some power, so hopefully he stays on it. If we can load the bases, the guy up can go for the drill in the back. Good as any way to score. We always have Dee to blame if the superstar lineup snoozes like it does so often.. At least this is set up without Haren, who IMO, is just a HR haven and doesn't have a clue on how to stop it. I guess neither does Honeycutt. I'll go for a split and be satisfied, but if we are going anywhere, we'll probably have to go through these turds from St.L, so we need to find a way against them, as we do with SF. No time like the present to start learning how and put a little fear into them when they play us, instead of always the other way round.... Oh, and I think they should send AJ for an MRI. Something's up with his shoulder/arm...and a pitcher's meeting isn't going to help, Orel...
Will Uribe be back? That could help spark the offense. And on a related note, if both he and Ethier are starting, it had better be Uribe in the 6-hole and not Andrea.
Opinions are like Aholes, everyone has got one, but I wonder... after some thought, what this means to fans and posters that watch every game and opine about them as we do?
