We throw shade at Matt Kemp all the time. He was our golden boy, then our cornerstone, then the guy we all love to shit on.
He went from Bellinger, to becoming Seager, to ending up as Puig.

    Sure, but...
    1) I don't have a shirt that says "Kemp mows my lawn"
    2) Kemp =/= Pujols (and I don't say that to bag on Kemp, but few players are on the same level that Pujols was in StL)

All Pujols did was take the most $ on the open market.
STL fans rained racist taunts down on Jason Heyward because he left too.
Fuck STL and fuck Matt Kemp..only way it could be better is if Kemp played for STL.
Kemp was a shithead malcontent his final couple years with LAD, episodes galore..throwing teammates under the bus, shouting matches with DBB and other coaches, trade demands, bitching about having to move off CF/play LF, etc. until the FO and well informed fans were just like..

Sure, but thats not the point.
The point is that fans will hate on someone they dont like, for whatever reasons justified by you, me, or anyone else.
Just like we hate on Puig/Kemp/Broxton, et all, Cardinal fan hates on Pujols/Hayward, etc...

    It's a fair point.

But I don't hate on Kemp, at least not like that. I obviously can't say the same for everyone in here. I like to think it would be different had Kemp been MVP-caliber for 10 years and had led us to 2 WS rings.

    Would it?
10 years in, and starts acting like a douche?
Maybe he gets it worse for being in his more mature years and now acting the spoiled brat routine.
I know some people are not big fans of Steve Garvey in the organization, and he was a pretty big deal.
Although the Garvey hate is pretty much on the low... i do remember it. I cant even remember why, possibly he was just a douche too.

Now the test of fans is this... do Giants fans still love Barry?
How bout Jeff Kent's old chap ass?

Fuck man, if you think mowing grass is racist then you have had too good a time on this lifeboat.
Calling a black dude whatever you just said is never going to be the same. But that's ok, you just lack common sense is all.
Common sense is actually common knowledge. As in you know you aint supposed to say that shit, not because its not PC but because you should fucking KNOW!
You are old enough to know what everyone else knows.
But we like to have that ace in the hole whenever we are caught with our bullshit.
"But... i didn't know" when everyone else knows. Of course you know, you just choose to ignore what you know so you can be ignorant.
Because when we are ignorant we get to say whatever the fuck we want. No consequences in our mind. It is justified in some twisted way.

No mexicans were killed in the mowing of any lawns. Nor were they forced to mow lawns.
Mexicans risk their lives for the RIGHT and PRIVILEGE to mow our lawns.
That is what they use to raise their family. And to feel like real men.
Unlike us who work as servants for most of our lives while we think we are not slaves tied to a desk or an office or a building.
The Mexican owns that the only freedom is to not be a slave.
To not sell yourself into the employ of others who can tell you when to jump and how high.
    That is selling your soul.
Now the mexican sold out a long time ago. If you are in hell and want to go to heaven you better learn how to sacrifice.
But the smart Mexican only sells out for so long.
Then his cheerful and honest demeanor, and his hard work and ethical behavior become 'known' quantities to his bosses clients that he serves.
And eventually, the Mexican becomes an American and turns his bosses clients into his own.
And the Mexican is running his little illegal non green card having business where he still has to work hard (not a problem for the mexican) but no longer has a boss, he gets to keep all his profits, and gets to live like an OUTLAW the way a man is supposed to live when the law is no longer used to socially engineer good children into good adults, but instead used to socially engineer bad adults into horrible despicable me's.

Im Mexican, i say nigga all the time, well not all the time but when im with the people from back in the day.
Or when im with black guys that I know. I would never throw around terms like sambo and enjoy the zoo gorilla.
Because context is king. And common sense tells me that black people were enslaved, whipped, killed, raped, hung, persecuted, and still viewed with either disgust, fear, and worse by most of us.
When they start bitching about reparations and their plight they are being huge pussies, that is true.
But you cannot compare mexicans and lawns with blacks and pretty much anything hateful used/said to persecute blacks in the past.

Trust me, deep down Mexicans dont give a shit about white people making fun of them.
    Mexicans know whats up.
You dont have to have a president (poor blacks) to own a country. Poor blacks thought it was gonna be free KFC with every Obamacare checkup but nope. The great black hope did little to help his own people. In fact he did like all presidents before him.
He bombed his own people. Yet they cheer him on.
Mexicans... they just out there mowing your lawn, planting your crops, fattening up your women and giving us the best fast food in the world.
And no, i dont mean taco bell.

big difference between pujols and kemp
pujols created a foundation for kids in st louis that he still maintains to this day
when he left for analheim he never had anything but praise for the organization and the fans
i liked kemp and he did some nice things (like that one kid in sf who has sadly since passed away)
but he was quick to bash the dodgers after he was shipped to atlanta, saying it would be the "first baseball city" he'd ever play in
    so fuck him
puig disappoints with his antics and not taking the game seriously
he's obviously doing better, but imo is still too pull happy
people point to his age and new freedom from a communist regime, but you don't see the same from cespedes or abreu
as for broxton, he's a bum who melted down when we needed him most
like a 2000ish version of tom niedenfuer

Jack Clark and Ozzie Smith like the Niedenfuer reference.

Thinking about starting a Dodgers podcast with impressions of Dodger greats and media personalities. Pretty niche and impossible to monetize. But might be fun.

There's something about online communications that does that... anonymity? Lack of facial expressions? Just not knowing people? What I like about posting here is that I've posted with these guys for years (10 years with some of them), and you tend to get to know people and understand their quirks.

We'd probably kick Rube out if it weren't for the fact that he created this place.

Yeah you've joined the club now.
Rube loves to tell people that what they feel and think is wrong, they have no common sense, they don't know what's going on, etc., and will give you the most obscure Rubeworld logic to explain why you are. I don't know whether I'm wrong about that I think he really just waits for any opportunity to pontificate his righteousness, but I do know that his ego is very healthy.
    Immense even.

Someone on MLB radio made a good point this morning about the Giants. They're doing exactly what they did last year where they go off and win a bunch of games and you start thinking, "well yeah, they're the Giants." Then you reach a little deeper and see that they're winning games in an unsustainable fashion again. Still not scoring a ton of runs, bullpen is still having its issues and the starting pitching is carrying them right now. They have the same indicators from last year where people were saying, "this will normalize" and it did. These runs will happen in and out throughout the season, but if they don't get some regular contributions from people not named Belt or Posey, they're gonna be right back in the cellar. For them to get back in this thing it's no longer just us that they need to fend off. They also need to make up ground on the D'Backs in Rockies. I could see them sitting around .500 this season as they'll really start missing Bumgarner in a few weeks.
