Thinking about starting a Dodgers podcast with impressions of Dodger greats and media personalities. Pretty niche and impossible to monetize. But might be fun.

Seriously, if this happens, I'm a listener.

Well said. And don't get too worked up over Rube, he's said a lot more about a lot less.

Appreciate it. Face to face, we'd probably all laugh & drink beers & respect each other. These portals bring out the worst in people imo. I'm often just as lousy that way.

There's something about online communications that does that... anonymity? Lack of facial expressions? Just not knowing people? What I like about posting here is that I've posted with these guys for years (10 years with some of them), and you tend to get to know people and understand their quirks.

We'd probably kick Rube out if it weren't for the fact that he created this place.

Yeah you've joined the club now.
Rube loves to tell people that what they feel and think is wrong, they have no common sense, they don't know what's going on, etc., and will give you the most obscure Rubeworld logic to explain why you are. I don't know whether I'm wrong about that I think he really just waits for any opportunity to pontificate his righteousness, but I do know that his ego is very healthy.
    Immense even.

Yeah and they were all over the fact that they are hot but fail to mention that they only gained 1 game during this time.

I wish I could be paid to say "You're talking about a guy who shows up to the ballpark every day with one thing on his mind...to win".
    These guys have it made

Someone on MLB radio made a good point this morning about the Giants. They're doing exactly what they did last year where they go off and win a bunch of games and you start thinking, "well yeah, they're the Giants." Then you reach a little deeper and see that they're winning games in an unsustainable fashion again. Still not scoring a ton of runs, bullpen is still having its issues and the starting pitching is carrying them right now. They have the same indicators from last year where people were saying, "this will normalize" and it did. These runs will happen in and out throughout the season, but if they don't get some regular contributions from people not named Belt or Posey, they're gonna be right back in the cellar. For them to get back in this thing it's no longer just us that they need to fend off. They also need to make up ground on the D'Backs in Rockies. I could see them sitting around .500 this season as they'll really start missing Bumgarner in a few weeks.

Why are you taking things personally? What does board history even mean?
I spoke openly because I know you can follow. If you think I was attacking you or anything you are mistaken.
You are going to extremes and talking about gang members and how they react. That is an unreasonable point.
Gang members are super racists, that is why they may shoot you. Not because what you actually said is racist.
Although ive talked about fried chicken and watermelon with black guys like its whatever. Because it is whatever.
Unless you are a douche, then no matter what you say your intentions betray you and you will be viewed as an enemy.
I swim with them and spit watermelon seeds while we trade lawnmower jokes.

Im tired of this shit version 25.0?

Nah. Just my man Ruven being Ruven and people taking exception to Ruven. Could almost be a successful sitcom. Addressing real life problems with comedic and over complicated solutions. Writes itself, just every episode would have to be five hours long and ultimately achieve very little. Ruv in charge, of our days, of our niiights.

    cautiously optimistic adrian is right

Gonzalez confident outburst against Marlins start of new beginning
by Matthew Moreno | Dodger Blue — 2 hours ago

Prior to Sunday’s game, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts dismissed any concern over Adrian Gonzalez and his sluggish, albeit in a small sample size, return from the 10-day disabled list. “His timing is a little off,” Roberts said.

“Just his presence in the lineup means a lot to us. He’ll get it going. He’s got his strength back, his extension is there.” Sure enough, Gonzalez went on to carry the Dodgers in the series finale against the Miami Marlins.

He finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in the 6-3 victory. The multi-double game was Gonzalez’s first since April 23. With one double, he had his first extra-base hit since April 25.

What’s more, the three-hit game was Gonzalez’s first since Aug. 22, 2016. For the veteran first baseman, the results were simply a byproduct of health.

“My body is definitely better,” Gonzalez said. “I told you guys all along as long as my body feels good, I was going to come back. The first two games it was trying to get back into the rhythm, [Sunday] I felt good.”

Affected and limited by back and forearm trouble since Spring Training, Gonzalez hit .255/.327/.309 with a .284 wOBA and 76 wRC+ through 29 games. Gonzalez’s .635 on-base plus slugging percentage at the time of landing on the disabled list was on pace to be the lowest mark of his career.

The DL stint was a first for Gonzalez, who appeared in 1,833 games before ultimately going inactive. “As long as I’m healthy and my back holds up, everything is going to be fine,” he said.

“When my back and legs weaken, there’s not much else I can do other than try to fight through it. Fighting through is not a good recipe, which I found out the hard way.”

Sunday’s performance was in line with what Gonzalez has done throughout his career. That was not lost on Brandon McCarthy, who held the Marlins to one run over six innings.

“We all know how good he is,” McCarthy said. “At his best, he’s a tremendous pain in the [expletive] for other people. He does exactly what he did [Sunday], takes balls all over the plate and drives them all over the yard and runs score. We certainly would like to have him going full steam.”

Gonzalez anticipates that to be the case moving forward. “The way I see it is,” he began, “the first game I came back was the start of my season.”
