    he cleared waivers and there were several teams interested so timing was of the essence
    the number one thing the FO is supposed to do is make the team better for the stretch and they just did
    who knows why they wanted AJ but thats how it worked out
    CK is a big boy and to worry about him sulking is silly imo
    he wants to win as much as anyone and he can't objectively say he wouldn't make this deal if he is a true team guy

    So that is why they took AJ back in trade? Couldn't they get a better deal anywhere. I'm not sure how many teams are on his no-trade but it's been reported the preference was here, perhaps because Chase has been gushing about his time here.

    Edit: From trade rumors:

    Two teams, however, are said to be “mulling” a move to add Ruiz, who is earning $8.5MM and is owed a $500K buyout on a $4.5MM club option next year.

    We hate Carlos Ruiz cause of what he did to us but I feel like he'll be a fun guy to root for. Seems as "gritty" as AJ

    After reading how it was back in the glorious times in Brooklyn, when Red Barber was basically let go over $300.00 (!), and trying to lowball guys like Koufax and DD, this is child's play, really.

    maybe they wanted the kid and just figured AJ could fill in for Ruiz and leave at the end of the year idk
    like someone else said maybe AJ wanted a chance to show he was worth another major league contract
    is what it is as they say in we just got better so that works for me

    True about the pitcher we received but the reports didn't mention who we gave up. I thought Chooch was younger but he's the same age as AJ. Stats are better between the 2 but he has been playing in the Philly a notoriously hitter friendly park. Hope he kills for us.

    EDIT: I thought we got Bergans my bad.
