    Eek!

Once you start having hamstring problems it almost always lingers until it has healed completely. I hope Matty learns from the lessons of Ken Griffey Jr.'s career and waits until he is fully healthy to return and then moves from center to a corner soon rather than later.

Shut him down for 2 months if that's what's needed for him to be completely healed from it.

His career is in jeopardy. Going to linger and be an issue for a long time. As Lyons said, his running days are over.

^ Isn't that a bit hyperbolic...? Yes, as the article states:
but to say his career is in jeopardy? Doesn't follow.

Doesn't mean he will never play again but this is going to be a big issue for a long time it seems. It will affect the kind of player he is. That's the vibe I'm getting from Rick Monday and Steve Lyons.

His career isn't in jeopardy. He will play, he just won't have 40-40. He won't be able to go all out in the outfield or when running the bases. It sucks, but I think he can still be effective.

What you said scares me just as much. He can't go all out anymore. That sounds horrible.

Reyes has pulled or torn his hamstring like 5 times and is still as explosive as any player in the league.

Yea the hysteria over career changing injury is a bit excessive imo. people act like he just blew out his ACL, MCL, and PCL in both knees.

    THIS, more than anything else
hamstrings heal, they take a while, but they heal
he re-injured it, quite honestly, because he only knows one speed -- full speed
would have been wiser to jog into 3rd, but that's not how he plays

will it effect him this season? probably. he most likely wont steal alot. but going forward his speed should be fine.

but just because Reyes has had hamstring injuries and has come back doesn't mean Kemp will. Both have completely different body types

Reyes' two legs together don't make one of Kemp's. That's definitely a factor, the guys build and body type. I can't see how you can compare one guy's recovery from an injury to anothers. Just isn't valid.
I suppose this is why guys take illegal substances...at times just like this.
I hope you're right... well see.
