Putting Rubby in the pen would be a massive mistake. If he adds a pitch to his repertoire and refines his off speed just a bit he's going to be extremely special.

I wouldn't have Eovaldi in the pen either long term. He wasn't that good last season, but he was 21. I think we should give him another year in AA, maybe bring him up as a swingman towards the end of the season, and plan to have him in the rotation in 2013. Hopefully the new owner/GM won't put much weight into contract situation.

Based purely on projection I like Lee, Webster and maybe Gould more than these two as starters. These 3 could be on another level compared to Eovaldi.

Lee, Reed, Webster, RDLR need to be starters. Torn on Eo and Gould but I would put them wherever they perform the best.
I still want Withrow to do well damnit

Eo seems to have a higher upside than Reed. Eovaldi is ranked higher across the board, and some people might be forgetting that they're the same age.

Read something on Withrow recently suggesting that he may be heading towards what he was designed to be.

Withrow's the only guy I'd definitely move to the bullpen.

Likewise.. Still holding my breath on Ethan Martin, but that might be a lost cause.
The future of our rotation looks amazingly bright, especially when you consider that Kershaw is only 23 and improving.

Now, lets fucking develop some hitters worth a shit.

22's a solid ranking for a team that dipped so much into the farm in a single year. When this ownership gets resolved we desperately need to start spending more dollars internationally though.

I'd guess Rubby would be somewhere in the 50's

When he comes back, I truly hope that Rubby isn't thrown out there right away and expected to be an innings eater. The Dodgers have done this for years, and I'll tone back and say the DBB's use of him last season, was "rookieish"...on Donnie's part. Wa-a-a-y too much and too long, and he paid for it.
There are freaks like Guidry, little guys that can throw as fast as anyone, and hold their own right up there with the "built like Tom Seaver and Roger Clemens, etc." of the BB world. But they are the exception, not the rule. Not too many Louisiana Lightnin's come this way in BB if you think about it...
Rubby is a little guy that can bring it, but his physical size must always be considered. As long as he's a starter...which I believe is his ultimate career path.

Agreed on the Rubby sentiment. Our little state does produce quite a few baseball players when you think of how small we are.
