The time to trade Puig is now, shouldn't wait until he starts to slide again.
Hard to see LAD sinking 120MM+ into Puig when his FA comes, pretty much keeping RF warm for Harper IMO

Our 2nd hottest hitter and you want him gone, can't please you people. I know you're going to say his trade value goes up but if you believe he is an attitude problem why would anyone want him? Now if you're trying some mojo then I approve :D

I don't think he has an attitude problem.
I just don't think he's that good anymore offensively. His swing is awful. Doesn't get any extension unless it's a hanging breaking ball. Just isn't the same guy. If we had a powerhouse lineup maybe it wouldn't matter but we need him to be able to lead off or hit in the middle of the order for us. But I don't trust him in either of those roles. Just get his value up and get him out of here. The results are there for him right now but I don't like how he looks up there. Turner was the opposite for me. Turner looked fine up there with his process and swing but was just off with his timing. He was bound to come out of it. Puig is bound, imo, to flop with how he looks in the box. Just what I see.

I don't believe he has an attitude problem, now's just the time, they shouldn't wait until he's struggling again.
They made a decision that they'd consider offers last off-season, stick to it, maybe the right one will be there now.
As for missing Puig, just get another bat in his place at some point this month, if this lineup is dependent on Yasiel Puig, we're toast anyway.

Swings go through cycles. He WALKED 2 times yesterday, when was the last time he did that? Hunter Pence looks like shit all the time, as long as the job is done who am I to quibble with results.

If he doesn't listen as people harp on in here, isn't that a attitude problem?

This is a classic case of agree to disagree. Can go back and forth on it but it's no use. Just differing opinions.

I'm not sure, could be a number of things.
But I don't wanna get into disparaging Puig in this discussion..after all, teams may be watching Lol
Still, FWIW, since coming back I really haven't seen him handle any high level pitching or anything like that and that's ultimately what's coming if they make it to October anyway.
He is, however, doing well against the moderately decent pitchers at least and that wasn't a given.
Long look, RF is Harper's after 2018 anyway, can't see them putting 120MM+ down on Puig.

It has been nearly two months, so how about another long rundown of the top 30
Urias- Yeah, he's going to be good
De Leon- Back up to 5 innings in his last start and has been solid thus far in his return. Had a rough go two starts ago, but recovered nicely in the last one.
Holmes- He's gone from a focal point in the system to an afterthought in a hurry. Still rolling along in HiA K'ing a batter per inning. Still needs to refine his command, but reviews are still positive on him.
Montas- Hurt again, probably a reliever when he gets back. It will be interesting to see how team deals with him after another rib injury. Word was that when he was going, he was looking damn good.
Bellinger- Nice rebound after a slow start. Was hothot, but cooled off before picking it up again this past week or so. Seems he has found some middle ground this year as he is striking out less and walking more, but at the likely expense of power as doubles and HR's are down.
Verdugo- Great year for the kid and has probably leap frogged a couple of the guys ahead of him as a top talent in the org. Probably not a superstar like Seager, but should be a great complimentary piece.
Diaz- Been hurt most of the year. Sounds like he had a shoulder issue that was bothering him and he tried to play through it. Didn't work great for him. Not going to be a big power hitter though.
Buehler- Still hasn't pitched this year.
Cotton- Command is huge for this guy, when on, he's really good. When off, he gets beat up. Relief did not work out for him.
Alvarez- Dominating the AZL in his first 3 starts. May need to head to Ogden or GL before this one is over. Getting great reviews.
Calhoun- Was on a roll until a recent slump. People have been very impressed with him and feel he has a MLB bat. Chosen for Futures Game.
Barnes- Still looking like a solid back up catcher. Another good all around season from him.
Heredia- Solid start to the year for DSL2. Saw something that said he is really struggling against decent breaking stuff.
Johnson- Bad year, he looks like a bust in the deal. Based on his twitter, he's more interested in other subjects.
Anderson- Has been pretty good since going back to relief. Was just moved to AA and has been getting hit a bit more, so we shall see how he adjusts.
Estevez- Really having a rough go of it in LO-A, but still really young for the league.
De Jong- Has added a cutter that has really got him rolling. Could be interesting to see if he is developing more into a 3-4 instead of a 5.
Sborz- Doing extremely well in HiA after being converted into a starter. He is still not going deep into games, but that very likely has more to do with an IP limit.
Rhame- Don't ever hear anything about him. High 90's FB, but command seems to be a bit of an issue.
Davis- Much like everyone else that is a Loon, not having a great season. A lot of folks really like him, I wouldn't pay too much to the numbers out of the MWL as it is not easy to hit there.
Scavuzzo- Having a solid season so far, but has really fallen back from the pack of other OF'ers in the system. He's trade bait at this point.
Abdullah- Read a nice report on him over the weekend, seems like a really good kid and new to the game. His fastball seems to be getting harder and harder. Had a bad outing on the 4th, but is sounding like he could be an 11th round steal with a high ceiling.
German- Sounds like the team held him back to work on some kinks. He is now up with Great Lakes and hasn't done much, a few good and a couple of bad outings
Brito- Not really doing a whole lot for the DSL2 squad. Bat was always felt to be lagging a bit and he's 17. His OBP is sitting a solid.150 over his BA and his walking more than K'ing so that is a great start.
Mieses- A lot of great reviews on the kid lately. Sounds like he has big time power potential, but he's not making a lot of contact right now.
Stewart- Made his big league debut last week. Kid has shot up through the system and looks like another solid piece for the rotation down the road. Should be a top 10 prospect going into next season.
Farmer- Was another catcher in the system having a solid year, but broke his hand. Another guy that is likely a back up, not starter of the future.
Toles- Holy shit what a comeback year for the once heralded top prospect. Speedy top of the lineup batter who is flying up the system ranks. If he continues to show solid growth after his promotion now to AAA, you could see him with the big club come September.
Leon- Is probably off the top prospect list here after the season. Another down year with the bat, which was his main value at the C position.
Paroubeck- He'll likely be joining Leon. An awful year after what was a nice bounce back in 2015.

    Guys to watch:
OF Mitchell Hansen- Top prospect in system last year had a rough go of it in 2015 and never dug out. Scouts said he was visibly pressing and just went into a tailspin. 2016 is off to a great start after the promotion, hopefully he keeps it up and gets to play some for GL.
1B/DH Edwin Rios- Like the only guy for the Loons who wasn't downright terrible. Was promoted to HiA and has continued to crush. Sounds like the bat is legit, the glove though...
OF Kyle Garlick- Threw together a great hitting campaign last year across 3 levels .349/.397/.591 and has followed that up with .299/.359/.525 over two this year. After a really slow start in AA, he has begun to acclimate himself nicely. Already 24, so not sure what kind of upside we are talking here.
SP Trevor Oaks - Rough first start in AAA, but bounced back in a big way in his second game. He's climbed the ladder like Stewart has after starting in Rancho earlier this year. I have not heard much about him, but the results are very positive.
1B/OF O'Koyea Dickson- Has had a great year in AAA, but at 26, he better be. Was always viewed as a sleeper in the system who could never put it all together. Could be someone the team looks to if SVS continues look as bad as he has.

While his batting average is low... Gavin Lux already has 12 walks in 38 at bats for a .421 OBP

Baseball Prospectus just did their mid season Top 50 and the Dodgers did not get much love. Urias is #3, De Leon #38 and that was it. Bellinger hasn't had the best of years, Montas can't stay healthy and Verdugo has been routinely held down by scouting services outside of one.

Two top 50's is pretty good, no? Can't be all that many organizations that can say that.
