Greinke means no Maeda, and probably no Hill.
And Greinke was not so hot in Arizona last year.
You could easily say that both Hill and Maeda had better years than Greinke.
So not signing him was probably a good move.
And next year at around this time we may be saying the same thing about Jansen.

Slow your roll chicken little. Last I checked the season does not start for another 4 months. If we had Greinke everyone would be griping about how we spent graillions of dollars on a guy that produced a 4.37 era and a 1.277 WHIP.

Who knows what this year will look like because the off season really just got going. I am pretty sure Turner is going to get signed, and I believe that we will get Dozier for JDL. Jensen is probably walking, but Blanton can be resigned. Then hopefully MGT trades for a 2nd tier closer, say Alex Colome. Also remember that we will be getting full seasons out of Dayton and Urias. Also there is hope that we have a healthy Ethier, Wood, and Ryu. That is not a bad team. That gives us Kershaw/Hill/Maeda/Urias/Wood-Ryu-Kazmir-McCarthy. That is a very strong 1-4. The Bullie obviously takes a step down if it is headlined by Colome, but could be quite strong if Dayton continues as he ended, Blanton is resigned, and we get a healthy Yimi and his 2015 0.953 WHIP. I also would not be surprised if MGT pulls off a trade for a guy like Betances, which would make the bullie stronger.

I actually agree with the Kazmir optimism. There were moments when he was absolutely on point, popping the mitt with 94-95 with life; unfortunately his physical fragility constantly interferes with his putting it together. If he could manage 190 unbroken innings I think he could be a major bright spot.

The world would've been on fire if we had Greinke last year.

At least Kazmir has had some sustained success.

McCarthy's last decent run was the second half three years ago in New York.

Sad for him. I was pulling for him ever since they featured him on Backstage Dodgers, living in a motel room with his wife and kids trying to make it. FUCKTARDS chose to "Give him" 550K then cut. Happy for him financially but it just reeks of more fiscal stupidity from them.

I'm really starting to hate those cocksuckers......

I would've cut him too. He's not a very good baseball player.

Right... But with a 550K severance right before you let key FA's walk citing fiscal responsibility?

It's bizarre to me that people still drink their Kool Aid and don't recognize what clueless ass holes they are.

    From mlbtraderumors:

He would be entitled to reject the outright assignment, having previously been outrighted by the Rockies, though that would mean sacrificing the guarantee. Presumably, this turn of events was largely foreseen by both player and team at the time that the new contract was agreed to.

JT is at Kenley's wedding in Curacao, maybe his future wife wants to be an actress? JT with a standing order not to announce anything until after the proceedings?
