He will probably hold out for a better deal with the threat of retirement. But yeah, very strange and valuable if he decides to honor the contract

I know we all want exciting news on the trade front with the Dodgers but I believe we got our deadline deal with Matty starting to crank it up. Even if you don't agree about my Kemp theory the waiver trade deadline is where we could do something but I wouldn't be mad if we didn't. I still can't over trading Cespy as they all him for a rental?????????????? Shows how much the A's want it and how much confidence they have in Jeff S. Could you imagine us trading Yasiel for a rental, there would be anarchy!!!! I know we need bullpen help but another closer who won't be closing on our team would be just too strange.

I've never seen anything like it. The contract creates a situation where you have a 12 year veteran making league minimum because he incurred an injury while pitching for your team. That's just asking for trouble. Nice work, Red Sox. Lackey should hold out, he's good enough to get an extra $10 million slapped onto his salary for next season easily.

It's Oakland, and Cespedes will hit FA after next year and there is no way the A's can re-sign him for what he'll ask for.

In Oakland, if they win this year, it's all gravy.

They don't have the money to keep their big stars like Cespedes. This is win now. They can suck for the next ten years if they win it all this year.

Yeah they might not even have had enough money to keep him next year with some raises to other guys through arbitration.

They should've put that clause in Crawford's contract for being terrible.

But with Crawford the team wouldn't pick up the option, even at league minimum.

Who can afford Price? If not us, then, no, not the Cardinals...

Could be Pittsburgh, have the young players, then flip him in off-season instead of paying him $20M in 2015

I say it's Mariners or Pirates. Both have the prospects and high incentive to win in this window with enough youth on the team to be good for 2015

Multiple reports saying Price is definitely getting traded.
