his agent's gonna insist that Miami either pay him this winter or move him and the price is probably gonna be out of Miami's range. really, it's only fair..he's an MVP level guy..he should get Trout money ASAP and he has a right to be pissed if he doesn't get it. the more i think about it..the more i think Puig is going to Miami. Puig's on an absolutely BEAUTIFUL contract and MIA will be all smiles considering that.

indeed. can't help but be intrigued by all this Stanton news tho..we're seriously the safest bet as a landing spot for him if he leaves Miami

what do you guys think about Orel as a managerial option tho? can't remember who said it, but i'm all for a former pitcher or catcher running the team in the future. and the bulldog knows what it means to put on the blue. smart baseball guy as well. not sure how he'd do managing egos, but they could put a nice staff around him and blend well. keep McGwire on as " club-house security " of sorts. Lol

hard to blame Towers for Upton..Upton wanted out and then blocked a trade to Seattle so he could go team with his brother. Arizona was set to get Tijuan Walker in that blocked deal

I'd take Kevin Kennedy as manager

Joc and Seager to Miami might be a possibility..LAD ownership's making a lot of their money back with Puig on the team. i wouldn't move Urias tho. i guess that would move Puig to CF permanently if they went that way in Stanton trade talks. Stanton in right and Kemp in left. add that to AGon and Dee at the top of the lineup..at that point i'd say we offer Guerrero to Baltimore for Wieters..they're gonna let Wieters go anyway and we gotta shore up catcher. hopefully Wieters' elbow is good to go and what not..he's supposed to be ready for opening day. that's a solid lineup. if they let Seager go to Miami, then i guess they'd be all in on moving Hanley to 3B and offer him a decent looking 4yr deal to finish up with us. how's this lineup look for next year?

    L Dee 2B
    R Puig CF
    L AGon 1B
    R Stanton RF
    R Kemp LF
    R Hanley SS
    R Wieters C
    R Uribe 3B

a lot of pop, but a lot less youth and balance since we lose our lefties Joc and Seager. we'd pretty much be riding Stanton and Puig into the future and hoping the rest can stay healthy. not as good defensively either, but anytime you can have the potential to get 20HRs from your catcher in the 7-hole, your lineup is pretty strong.

so it's being reported that Ron Washington's resignation wasn't drug related..Ron over Don? former Dodger, played the game, plenty of managing experience, by all accounts a good guy...he's definitely made some managerial mistakes in his time tho.

Paco had a set back, which is terrible news.

Obviously it only gives us one lefty which sucks, and he's a good reliever so it hurts. Also though, this makes Mattingly use Howell as more of a LOOGY instead of a set up man, which hurts big time. Who is Don going to use in the 6th or 7th against a lefty? Jamey Wright? Yikes. And if he brings in Howell, that means we need 1+ full, clean innings from Wilson/League/Baez/Wright. Or, have to use Kenley for more then 3 outs yet again

We've obviously been doing it all year so it's not like things are going to be crazy different now. Just sucks

Washington is as bad, if not worse, as Don in in-game management but his players are typically always happy playing for him with minimal complaints and he they get through bumps with him.

He gives you exactly what Mattingly gives you... Plus, obviously Ron doesn't want to manage at the moment. If he wanted to, he wouldn't have resigned and it was all up to him and unexpected so it's obviously something serious

Yeah, I can't believe we've been rolling with 1 lefty for most of the season in the pen, and that doesn't look like it's going to change. I hope Paco can come back somehow. He's still got 3 weeks to work it out, I'm hoping.
