    Ahhhhhh, the deal is worth $210M! Hahaha, the Nats will regret this unless they win this or next year.

    There is a ton of deferred money though, so it doesn't hurt as bad, but still.

    Watching MLB Network drool over their rotation is pretty funny because they will almost certainly trade Zimmerman, Fister or Strasburg. Which leaves them with:

    Scherzer
    2 of those 3
    Gio
    Roark

    Still really good. I just laugh when people think deals stand alone, that no deals are contingent on other deals (see Dodgers in that one 12 hour period).

    Really interesting set up, half of the contract is deferred. So it's basically Scherzer getting 14 years at 15M a year, but only pitching for the Nats for 7 years. Curious.

    None of this bullshit barely squeak by teams in the NLCS. Give me a powerhouse, the top talent in the game

    At least it was the Nats and not the Cards or Giants, but man is that team looking good

    A Borass specialty. Listen it's a huge contract but as long as there is money out there the figures will continue to go up so I'm never going to be shocked. Greinke/Price/Zimmermann/Cueto etc., could top Max.
