    I love it.
He was a punk himself, can still be a punk at times as an old fella, but he's gonna be pretty good on TV with some polishing.

Todd Downing is set to take over as the Raiders offensive coordinator, with the team choosing to not renew Bill Musgrave’s contract and instead going with the 36-year-old quarterbacks coach. Here are 10 things to know about Downing.

    1. Downing was born in Eden Prairie, Minn., a suburb of Minneapolis.
    2. He played high school ball at Eden Prairie High for Mike Grant, the son of Bud Grant, the Hall of Fame head coach for the Minnesota Vikings
    3. Using that Grant connection, Downing became a public relations intern for the Vikings at age 19 to get his foot in the door in the NFL. He attended the University of Minnesota at the same time and also spent summers playing semi-pro ball for the Minnesota Maulers.
    4. Downing earned himself a coaching internship a year later and signed his first coaching contract at age 21. He was with the Vikings until 2005 under Mike Tice, before spending the next three seasons with the St. Louis Rams.
    5. He was hired as an offensive quality control coach by the Detroit Lions the same season they drafted Matthew Stafford No. 1 overall in 2009.
    6. Downing was elevated to quarterbacks coach in 2011 and held that role with the Lions until 2013. Overall, he spent five season in Detroit working under Jim Schwartz.
    7. He moved on to the Buffalo Bills in 2014 under Doug Marrone. They went 9-7 with EJ Manuel starting the first four games before Kyle Orton started the next 12 games and threw for 3,018 yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
    8. Downing came to Oakland in 2015 under Jack Del Rio, reuniting him with Tice, whom Del Rio hired as his offensive line coach.
    9. He was named Pro Football Focus’ quarterbacks coach of the year for his work during his first season with the Raiders.
    10. Only three current offensive coordinators — Washington’s Sean McVay, Chicago’s Dowell Loggains and Detroit’s Jim Bob Cooter — are younger than Downing.

In red..that's a real person. Lol

If the Chargers win enough in LA they'll be bigger than they were when they had LT/Rivers/winning ball games and playing deep into playoffs in SD.
    LA supports a winner..just win.
    And I don't mean 10-6 w/meh 1st round exits..I'm talking 12-4/13-3 as favorites to advance type of winning..LA will support a favorite.
Chargers are already the best NFL team in LA from the day 1, which isn't saying much because the Rams stink, but the Chargers do have that at least.
They have a QB and a pretty talented team all around that beats and competes to the last quarter w/other division's best teams week in and week out..they just play in the best division in football - bad break.
With the latter, they're gonna need some luck for sure because the RAIDERS/Denver/KC could slam the door shut on any of their plans for winning and for a while.
They're gonna need some luck, but there's potential to do some good.
Now, that whole plan to share the SH Center w/the Galaxy..

I know some deep Charger fans up here.
I always thought it was weird.
Being in LA will bring the Chargers more money than ever so they may prove to put a better team out there.
Beating out the Rams should not be a problem since they fucked themselves good for a few years by trading away all their picks.
But they should dump the Chargers brand and start fresh as if they were an expansion team.

I really don't get it though. I doubt they'll be popular in LA.

Raiders, Rams, Seahawks, cowboys, Packers, USC, UCLA all more popular in LA than chargers will be.

They'll be like the clippers were in the 80s-90s, but worse.

    Los Angeles Power
And they can keep their lightning bolt logo and uni.
Put their new stadium in Watts.

Still think they should go back to the old Superchargers name.
With the new stadium financed by Tesla Motors.
    Tesla Motors Supercharger stadium.
    https://www.tesla.com/supercharger
They can have their superchargers all over the parking lot, use part of the lot as a car salesfloor to sell more Teslas to the thousands of incoming fans.
Maybe a special powder blue and gold car.
An animatronic cyborg of Nikola Tesla can be their mascot.
With twin active tesla coils lighting up the main entrance.
And tesla towers/coils as the decorative motif where a pillar would be.
Maybe they can buy the LA Sparks while they at it.

Anybody as pissed off as I am that Spanos bit the Dodger colors and logo for their new LA logo?

I'm hoping this whole Charger thing is a failure of epic proportions.

not only that i feel bad for SD fans losing their team
there is no need for two NFL teams in LA when we had zero for so long
and the Chargers were just so SD
    what next the LA Padres?

Granted the unis are dope. But the chargers are inept with a bad owner too.
