One reason might be they are Dodger fans first and they are insulted by that snub ?
Y'know, and fuck Oswalt's delicate country sensibilities? If that what it all is...

Man. having huge problems when refreshing the pages, posts not showing up, then appearing later, slowness while waiting for the newest page. Everything. I think it's au revoir time for me.
    We'll always have Paris.

@TBrownYahoo: The Dodgers have made an offer to Roy Oswalt. Rangers, Oswalt's likely preference, still in mix, among other clubs

@TBrownYahoo: Oswalt's agent says Roy prefers to play in a place where fans actually go to the games. Empty stadiums not an option. Dodgers out.

it's a joke. TB is hating the stadium situation
it'll improve. it's already improved from last season literally overnight. give it time

as for Oswalt, if he wants to win, he'll sign here. bottom line. Texas doesnt NEED him, Philly is a joke in a tougher division too
easy NLW, 1st place club, winnable league. cmon Roy

Everyone expects him to sign with Texas. If they want him, they're gonna get him it looks like.

Oswalt and Halladay are both a-holes. Texas plays like 500 miles from where Oswalt is. I don't get the, 'close to home' shit. Is he gonna drive home every game? He's playing a half season. Jeeze. It's not like someone from Anaheim signing in LA to be close to home. More like someone from LA signing with SF to be close to home. Not even close, especially considering it's not even a full year. If it was a multi year deal, fine. But Oswalt is a stingy bastard. Disrespecting us!!!!!!!

But whatever. Go play for Texas, Philly, or Boston and get your ass beat by the Dodgers.

update from about 10 minutes ago...
IMO, just a matter of if Stan et al wants to outbid Texas and (then) how much Oswalt would leave on the table to play near home...

I don't get the playing near home thing. It was supposed to be a big deal 2 years ago, then he waived his no-trade clause to go to Philadelphia.

What I don't get is this:

Lilly is on the 15 Day DL, nothng has been reported that it's very serious, I mean he's going to throw this Thursday or Friday. Yet, they are saying they want Oswalt cause of Lilly's DL stint? If they signed Oswalt today, it would still take him about two weeks to be ready for MLB action, and that's basically around the time Lilly would be eligible to be off the DL. If the interest for Oswalt is true then one of three things, in my best guess, is happening:
    1) Dodgers want Oswalt for the pen, not the rotation
    2) Lilly's injury is far more serious than being reported
    3) The Dodgers believe they can trade off a piece of the rotation and be a better team with Oswalt, minus that starter, and plus whatever they get from that starter.

when's the last time we were a "finalist" for someone like this? glad we're on our way back up
can't blame him if he takes Texas over us. back to back WS, great offense

we need to focus on offense anyways.

reports are he wants texas and his leverage is insane. kasten wont overpay, he is saving that flexebility for extra bats and or arms for the pen. i dont think our starters can sustain this but 7 million come on, but with halladay and weaver hurt the price is not right
