Prayers to you and your family. My dad is also in very poor health and is basically confined to bed. The uncertainty for me is the most difficult part.

Sorry for your loss, buddy. I know what it's like to lose your dad and my thoughts are with you. Remember the good times and move forward with what he taught you.

Keep mementos around you so you don't forget. My father's collected clocks and I have the family grandfather clock in my living room and every time it chimes (on the quarter hour) he's here watching over us.

I'm going to raise a large tumbler of single malt to you and your dad tonight.

    Be strong brother.

Echo what everyone else said. Stay strong and you'll get through it even though you probably don't think so right now, I can tell you that from experience.

Thoughts and prayers, man. As has already been said, be strong...but don't be afraid to let it out either. Also already said, remember the good times, but also remember the things good or bad, that made you grow and shaped you. I'm sure your father like mine, did things that I took as an example and made part of me. There were also things he didn't do, so that I would learn for myself. I'm eternally grateful that my dad had such a strong influence on me, even though there were times our relationship was strained.

    Find peace.

So sorry to hear, friend. It's one of those inevitable things that we have to deal with in life, but that doesn't make it any easier. It was tough for me, but I remembered all of the good times, good years, and all of the life lessons he taught me.

I definitely needed to come out of the woodwork for this ma brotha. Yeah, I talk to the devil on a regular basis and he's just fine. We should definitely turn some bottles over ASAP.

I thought of you yesterday when I saw a funny picture of a Wheaties beer on FB.

Sorry Irish...as a grizzled vet of years of therapy brought about by direct family losses...remember that tears make you stronger. It's so true.
Healing takes time. The journey is difficult, but you'll be OK.
    My thoughts are with you.

Sorry to hear that Irish. Your admission of it being such a traumatic loss speaks of what you two had. My father passed three years ago. He was an asshole. So I was sad briefly and moved on quickly.

Appreciate the moments you shared as now it is time for you to live for the moments ahead of you with his spirit in tow.

    Time....

    Thank you for sharing.
