The thought of self-driving cars is scary. And, since I like driving, I don’t get it. You might as well have self driving boxes, because why need an actual car?
its like standing on the roof of a high rise in the middle of the city i feel like i have to jump i can't imagine relaxing in a vehicle no human in driving my very good lifelong friend insists it the future but i don't see it
There's times when I feel like driving, but there's also times when I could use the commute time to do something more productive if the car drives itself. It also makes parking in urban areas way easier if the car can drop you of wherever you want to go then drive away to a waiting area instead of paying $25 to valet park for an hour. There's also the alcohol thing.
This is the solution to ground-based traffic as well. Traffic jams mostly happen because people driving the cars are selfish and stupid (not necessarily in that order). If all the cars were autonomous and coordinated, existing infrastructure could hold double the amount of vehicles without congestion.

having thought of why quite a bit it is my conclusion that 15% or more of people on the road have no business being there and fuck it all up for everyone else they brake going up hills, down hills, mild curves, just no idea how to control a motor vehicle i think it was gallagher who said every person should possess a high powered dart gun and after a car collect 3 darts they get pulled over and written up for being an asshole its just not hard to get a drivers license and that small percentage of morons (and prius drivers) make it hell out there i'm from the era that was promised jetpacks but that's just never happening because its impossible one day i'm sitting on rube's mountain eating trees and sipping tequila and take off w my jetpack slightly low on fuel you can do that in a car and likely you have to wait on AAA do it in a jetpack and suddenly you're in pieces inside someones attic not to mention the guy who forgets to turn his lights on at dark
