Yeah. This team doesn't capture the imagination of fans. Very economical roster (as much as a 200M payroll can be lol). And flawed. But if this is as bad as a transition phase is for the Dodgers, I can live with it. Young players are on the way and I truly believe when the time is right to make a blockbuster deal, we will.
I still don't like the bullpen. I think they can smoke and mirrors this thing most of the season because some of the arms have decent stuff. But in the postseason, I feel we need to improve big time. Wish Chapman didn't fall through.
And fuck DSP for not having a "double like "button. Slightly disagree about signings, remember that at this point Utley IS a signing. Also that there has been some hard luck injuries on signings.
F for me. Same problems year after year. Depth does matter but only if you are backing up players that matter. Otherwise you are a backup backing up a backup.
don't want to overreact after such a dismal series so i'll [try to] give them til the deadline but if they don't do something to improve this team -- especially the bullpen -- i'll be extremely disappointed the offense is sucking mule testes right now, but that's gotta change at least i hope it does in all seriousness, they should consider dealing puig
if he isnt a young arm like montas or sierra coming up in the next couple of months ,dont expect a major move to help pen. Teams dont give up power arms and this team isnt gonna trade for an established older arm with a big contract.. And trading puig is absurd especially now that the off field nonsens has come to a halt and hes been an absolute web gem machine in right and good with the bat despite this 10 game slump or so hes been in.hey but good job not over reacting irish lol
i like puig and maybe it's the frustration talking but we're gonna have to give up something to get something in return my bad, i should have added "in the right deal" to the puig remark same could be said for just about anybody/everybody tbh i do agree that we don't want any aging vets and, honestly, i don't see the fo giving up any of our top tier prospects so i guess the question is what should/will be do (if anything) or are we going to be looking at the same team come 1pm on 7/31?
rotation help may come in form of trade.. but as for bullpen.. i think montas and sierra are the wild cards here.. when the chapman deal fell thru they went and acquired his dominican clone. with the hope of him making the team outright this spring. im assuming thats still the thought once he comes back. And sierra has some serious swing and miss stuff so if he can log some innings maybe he can be a difference maker also
Way too early to throw in the towel on the season obviously. We looked great coming into the Marlin series. Wait till late June/July to freak out.
A .500 team is an accurate reflection of what I've seen so far. Little rotation depth, atrocious bullpen, an offense that is hot-and-cold and rarely execute in tight situations, but will demolish some team twice a week to balance the numbers. Pretty much C. Hoping for improvement, but I think the F.O could have done better last offseason.
