    Looks like some bad news on Kershaw with his return. Not until " some time in September", if then. Wow.
    Might be time for Ryan Pepiot to be called up ?

    Can't seem to get much clarification on Trea's status. Apparently he's flying into LA today, but can't find a thing about when he might play.

    A footnote on the JR Richard story from this morning's LAT.....

    In his career, he was 15-4 with a 1.86 ERA in 24 starts against L.A., pitching 14 complete games, five shutouts and striking out 218 in 208 innings. From 1977-80, he was 11-0 against the Dodgers, with a 1.54 ERA with 136 strikeouts in 117 innings. He was dominant. Steve Garvey hit .247 against him, Dusty Baker hit .157, Ron Cey hit .148, Bill Russell .183, Davey Lopes .159, Rick Monday .125, Steve Yeager .083, Reggie Smith .208. No Dodger could hit the guy.

    Clippard threw 3 sub 90 pitches down the dick to posey and for some reason posey took two of them and swung and missed at the third

    The 14 complete games over 24 starts is ridiculous, and would be unheard of today.

    I'm impressed you got #40. I blanked on #23 - should've got that which would've given me 14/17. Not surprised I missed 32, 40, or 47.

    i was a complete dodger baseball geek as a kid
    parent's bought me every yearbook (even older ones before i was old enough to be a fan) and i memorized everything
    saw most of them pitch in person
    was a different, but still great time

    I've got a bunch of those tucked away, including a '63 World Series program. Grammar school friend (a Yankee fan) got it for me.

    #47 (Messersmith) was my favorite pitcher in my college days. Four pitch pitcher with a killer change.
