The only issue with signing this guy to the 50 Million dollar contract they want, how will it effect the contract of Kershaw. I think they need to get that done before signing any more players. I would hate to short change Kersh and see him walk unhappy.

I'm sure they're going to do whatever it takes to sign Kershaw, even if it means we have a $300m roster. I am not at all worried about that. 50m for 5 years of MLB ready #3 starter? I'll take that any day, assuming he's as good as I hear.

Guggenheim has BILLIONS in assets, I wouldn't worry about running out of money. Plus they are about to clear 5 Billion from the TV deal alone. Not a bad piece of business there.

M.A.G. is down to 5 choices and should make a decision by the end of the week, but no word who those teams are. The teams all in on M.A.G. thus far have been Dodgers, Cubs, Rangers, Red Sox, Phillies, Blue Jays, Braves, Twins, Yankees and Marlins. Just guessing, but I have a feeling that the top 5 are the Dodgers, Rangers, Cubs, Red Sox and Marlins/Yankees. First 4 all have money to spend on needed pitching and either the Marlins for comfort or the Yanks if he prefers to compete. With the way Ryu is looking and the more I hear about M.A.G., I really hope it is us that lands him.

Puig probably didn't want to be the 2nd highest paid cuban defector on the team so he told the Dodgers the guy is an asshole and a pedifile.

They may not be interested in this Cuban, but they were interested in another.

I'm not saying I think the organization made the wrong decision, just disappointed that it is sounding like M.A.G. was likely not the player some reports had him out to be. I was looking forward to a rotation with 2 #1's and a very good #2, which is what some scouts had said. Now it looks like he may not even be rotation material which makes me happy that the team didn't just throw 50 mil at him.
