I saw his first inning, he looked awesome. Two Ks with good movement. Idk about the reports he's throwing 150 mph or whatever, but great first inning. However, that was it for me...evidently he gave up some hard contact after that.
Welp ... at least the kid gets paid. Next up, Freeman will suffer a rectal tear and miss the rest of the decade. Bring on the Clown Car.
You know who would be nice to have at SS? Good thing we got Tony Watson in return...he's been a force in the pen for us just like Josh Fields.
Yeah, that's tough to look at. And even worse in extreme examples like Pedro Martinez and Yordan Alvarez. But think of the countless Jeter Downs (Downses???) that we've unloaded. Nobody has that crystal ball, and we're going to win some and lose some. Seeing how Muncy, CT and Turner developed can't make the A's, M's, and Mets feel too good. But, yeah, Friedman has this attitude about not paying for relievers in free agency... thinking that he can always trade for one in the summer... and sometimes that's going to bite us in the ass.
can never have enough team players… Juan Toribio@juanctoribio Given his new role as the #Dodgers’ starting shortstop, Miguel Rojas says he has withdrawn from Team Venezuela in order to stay with the team this spring. He said he needs to make sure he gets as many at-bats as possible. 8:10 AM · Mar 2, 2023 · 48.6K Views.
I've never been a Boras fan, but this makes me dislike him even more. I don't buy his point that the Dodgers misjudged how much interest other teams had in Bellinger. Can he not understand that many Dodger fans just felt that his time in LA had run its course, and that the front office understood that and was not going to pay him market value? I don't care if 29 other teams were willing to sign him - I as a fan could not handle seeing him flail at high-and-tight pitches or sliders in the dirt any longer. Who knows, he might return to his glory years and I still won't regret seeing him go. More likely, though, Cubs fans will soon start feeling the frustrations that we had. Boras' quote basically feels like sour grapes to me because he wasn't able to get the Dodgers in a bidding war to drive the price higher. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ml...p&cvid=f8d0074fc4c34e9b92c818fa4975286c&ei=21
yeah i don't think there was a huge rush to sign the man iirc Cubs taking a one year chance there's still something there i'm rooting for Cody to turn it around but if borass didn't see the Dodgers non tendering him then he's not as good as everyone thinks he is and we all know that's not close to possible w that shrewd and ruthless bkitch
I'll say it. Boras is a greedy, lying fuck. He's am evil human being. And he's got company in his field.
I still blame him for persuading Beltre to sign with Seattle. Reportedly the Seattle offer was just slightly more than the Dodger offer.
Peter Gammons✓@pgammo One thing that is clear is that JD Martinez is extremely happy to be given a leadership role with the Dodgers, particularly Cuban rookies 2B Miguel Vargas and OF Andy Pages. With Mookie and Robert Von Scoyoc aside him JD could have a monster season 8:29 AM · Mar 3, 2023 · 30.8K Views .
fwiw Jack Harris@Jack_A_Harris We have a Yusniel Díaz sighting. He just crushed a three-run homer in the Dodgers B-game against the White Sox 9:28 AM · Mar 5, 2023 · 4,806 Views .
I'm not one to put too much weight on spring stats, but he needs to get a real shot at an opening day roster spot.
Pete Abraham✓@PeteAbe From the Red Sox: Justin Turner was taken to a local hospital after being hit in the face by a pitch. He is receiving treatment for soft tissue injuries, and is being monitored for concussion. He will undergo further testing, and we’ll update as we have more information. 12:04 PM · Mar 6, 2023 · 42K Views .
blood pouring from his face pretty gruesome hope he's ok obviously but you're right that didn't look like a minor injury at all
