C'mon....Puig is crazier than a shithouse rat. Are you kidding?
However, if I'm Ellis and I hear Puig screaming, I'm running off the field into a safer area, or curling up into the fetal postion.
Puig's a trainwreck waiting to happen. The Dim Reaper.
Ellis makes that play all night without him involved. Still shoulda caught it though, kinda. No contact.

    OK pinche huero...

July 21 vs Nats, Kemp 3 for 4,
July 22 vs Jays, AJ hits 4 for 6, 5 RBI’s, Kemp sits,
July 23 vs Jays, Puig 2 for 3 Gonzo 2 for 4, AJ sits
    July 24 vs Jays, Ethier 4 for 6, Puig 3 for 5
July 25 vs Reds, Puig 2 for 4, Han Ram 2 for 4
July 26 vs Reds, Crawford 3 for 4
July 27 vs Reds, Puig 2 for 3, Skip and Gonzo 2 for 4; Crawford sits
July 28 vs Reds, Puig 1 for 4 with walkoff HR; Skip sits
July 30 vs Yankees, Han Ram and Marky are 2 for 4
July 31 vs Yankees, Ethier and AJ are 2 for 4, Marky sits

It ain't about Marky and it ain't about Skip...

It's about DBB having a trend where he sits whoever has the best game. The stats for even this modest 10 game window support the observation for 5 of the past 10 games. Way more than coincidence.

Sorry to ruin your rant with facts but I wanted to illustrate my point in case that might have escaped your reply.

    No worries...

The Ump was totally cheering for Mo and was going to call anything he could a strike to honor Mo. WTF already? How about a little professionalism? These umps seem to think that the game is theirs to manipulate so they manipulate away all over the place

And Crawford sitting is either A) DBB unspoken rule to sit whoever is hot or B) Crawford is indeed a fragile player held together but baling wire and steroids

And sitting CK when he's pitching a shutout?

Come on who thought that was a good move when it happened? I know that I personally groaned to see Paco in there. And that was before the "D" fell apart at the seams

SO 2-4's are considered "hot hand" now? Please. Pretty liberal use of that term.

And LOL for the first one Kemp. He fucked up his ankle or something no? Yeah Don should've ran him back out there anyway.
And for the record... Every single player you used as an example have always taken days off for various reasons and that was expected...
    -Mark Ellis (old injury prone)
-AJ(A fucking Catcher never plays every game)
-Skip(A backup bench guy from day 1)
-Crawford(injury prone as a mother fucker and VERY streaky with severs L/R splits, probably benched vs. LHP or tightness, sore throat, cold, sand in the vagina)
-Ethier(Has had a severe L/R split for the last 3 years, probably benched vs. LHP)

Sorry to ruin your rant with facts, you proved you are wrongfully accusing Don. Thank you.
What about the others you've shown you didn't "bold"? Puig, HanRam, Gonzo, Ethier? You just helped prove yourself wrong again?

Not in the least Fordie, not in the least although I am going on record as agreeing with your assertion that the whole fucking team has sand in their vagina's... bunch of fragile fucks.

It's especially nice how you came up with neat and tidy excuses for all of them too.

maybe you relate to having sand in the vagina??

Players on this team get injured every day, I have no problem with whenever Donnie benched players. In fact, at least don has benched some players when they have a bad matchup (platoon splits). Also, we never know everything and maybe some days Donnie feels like a player doesn't look as energetic and/or another does.

There's been a couple times I've questioned Donnie's lineups and stuff, but I can see a lot of rationale behind a lot of his choices to sit/start someone

Excuses? I'd say they are more like common knowledge for Dodger fans that pay attention. I can post stats to back everyone of my claims on each of the 5 players we listed, from games played to R/H platoon splits.
    Reasons are not excuses.
You didn't debate any of them, because you can't. Are you going to try to tell me Skip was signed to start anything close to a majority of our games? Ethier hits Lefties well? Crawford is not hurt or ill even when he isn't on the DL? Starting catchers don't need games off more than other position players? That Mark Ellis doesn't have leg injuries on a yearly basis and is not actually in his late 30's?
Personal attacks? A sure sign you lost. Don't throw stones if...you know.
    Case closed

such a fool... Come on Ford follow along...

Well sure Ford.. I simply provided the best Dodger hitting of the day per the box score. I'll amend it if you insist to "hot handed Dodger". Is that better?

You can say those guys weren't hot that day but they were the best hitters wearing Dodger blue that day so those are the statistics that we have to go with.

You're arguing the definition of "hot hand" but I didn't add any opinion to that. I simply identified which player(s) had the best hitting performance that day as shown in the box score. Objective statistics that everyone can see. And then I highlighted how the hottest bat of the day sits the next day 50% of the time.

I didn't opine about who suffers this most frequently.
I didn't discuss who is frail and who is not.
I didn't discuss who is aged or who is not.
I didn't talk about the personalities.
I simply highlighted the fact, as shown in the box scores, that the hottest hitter in a given Dodger game gets sat the next day 50% of the time.

Han Ram and Gonzo being the most notable exceptions as pointed out and agreed to earlier. Pay attention.

I was illustrating the DBB trend. It doesn't matter which hitter. Watch the stats next week and see if the pattern repeats as it has most recently.

From a sabermatrics perspective I did not go back to review the entire season nor do I intend to... but you guys can if you've got the time. And of course all of this must cater to random injuries of the day, week etc.

It was just a general observation.

    One supported by box scores.

And from a stat perspective I failed to include Greinke twice as he was among the best hitters every time he pitches but as a pitcher he didn't figure into the calculations since he's sitting anyways.

Umm Ford... those would be the other 50%... hello??

Actually Ford I wasn't accusing DBB of anything, I was making an observation. My opinion of that observation, which had yet to be given, might be that DBB may not even be aware he's doing this...

    =OR=

    that he has "baseball reasons"

    =OR=

...he's doing it knowingly to rest these poor wretched soldiers who desperately struggle to muster the resolve to actually swing a bat several times a day while playing catch. Maybe DBB is a tough old Yankee bird that knows full well that these 2013 Dodgers are whiney entitled fragile overpaid wimps and he can only run them at 65% lest they expire during the game itself.

Except for Puig who plays at 100% even when told to simmer down. Which is EXACTLY what the Dodgers need.

If you happen to notice an interesting statistical trend I'd welcome your sharing it.

    That was mine.

you appear mighty protective of your manlove...

Is there something we should know? we didn't know you two were so close

There probably isn't a Dodger thread anywhere on DSP where 'someone' didn't make a wry crack about Donnie... yourself included.

And besides you completely misunderstood what I said earlier but were quick to fire off random shotgun replies.

    Fun

And even when I agree with you it's a problem...

Do you need a fresh pad?

    Capn shared his facts.

    Fordie took it poorly.
