    Yes, he did. That's why I put it the post.
    Probably the only known, admitted out-of-the-closet finook that played pro baseball
    Besides the Giants of course.
    And guy with a cool rifle.
    They say (I've read) that he used to yell at the ump when he blew the call at 1b by saying things like "it took great courage and guts to make that call, and I respect you for doing it"-all the while gesticulating wildly and using confrontational body posture...but actually complimenting the guy.
    Everyone else thought he was giving the ump an earful of foul language and saying things about his mother, etc., but never got htrown out...
    I guess that's why he went on to become an actor; these crazy, gay thespian first baseman types!....
    He did have the squarest jaw I ever saw.
