http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/11/prince-fielder-seeks-200mm.html I would think Prince is not worth 5 million more per year than Kemp.
No one will pay that; and if they do, they're as stupid as the Washington Nationals when they signed Werthless. At the most I'd go 6/138 for Fielder. But that still seems too high.
Someone will pay it because there wouldn't be an example of a Werth deal if someone hadn't stupidly parted with their money in Washington.
Admittedly, I hate this porcine malcontent more than most people...but if he gets 25 million dollars a year for what he brings to a BB field, then it will take me a long time to get over the intense nausea. You be thinkin' correctly.
What would Borasssss have wanted for Kemp if he was representing him as a free agent if he wants this much for Fielder?
Depending on annual inflation percent. At 2%, it would be worth 29.2 Million At 3%, it would be worth 27.6 Million At 4%, it would be worth 25.5 Million At 5%, it would be worth 23.6 Million
maybe so new ownership can announce it? i wish. you know spank wants the credit so it really doesn't make sense unless the bk court is holding it up.
I heard on Petros and Money the announcement will be tomorrow. not sure if they were telling the truth but PMS is usually a reliable source.
Contract details: dylanohernandez Dylan Hernandez Matt Kemp will earn $10MM in 2012, $20MM in 2013, $21MM/yr from 2014-2015, and $21.5MM/yr from 2016-2019. $2MM signing bonus.2 million of the 10 million in 2012 is deferred That's pretty hilarious, and depressing.
A cool paragraph from MSTI: Besides, though there’s no arguing the shocking dollar amounts here, this isn’t likely to be the biggest or even the second-biggest contract signing of the offseason. Albert Pujols could get north of $200m, and Prince Fielder is still targeting Ryan Howard‘s $25m/year as his baseline. Once we see where those land, ~$20m/year for a player who is neither over 30 (like Pujols), terrifyingly built (like Fielder), or tethered to first base (like both) could seem almost like a bargain.
