Truly a shame that a player like him is only coming to the league at age 27. Wasted years. :(

Yeah, Balfour is a fucking cunt. Hate that faggot.

It is remarkable how much the game has changed.
I was watching the Brewers/Cards game, for whatever unearthly reason, and Garza had a rough inning, but it was two out, one on. He strikes out the batter, but the ball a la Fedex/Butera, goes through the catcher's legs for a PB. The inning then goes on 19 more pitches total, the bases load, but no more runs score. So after the inning should have been over, the guy throws 19 more for a total of 40 in the inning. Garza was visibly gassed.
Then , the Brewers get up, and Overbay swings at the first pitch, flies out. the next guy swings at the second pitch, hits a hard grounder at the 3b, but he booted it. Should have been two outs in about 90 seconds. Garza was still wrapping a towel around his arm. WTF?
That would have never happened in the day, after a pitcher went through that.
It's something about modern BB players that is so anti-team and unaware to me, I just laugh at the way it all unfolds now. Like they are all dullards and slow witted and look like Arron Harang-Utan. Knuckle draggers and mouth breathers salivating at the sound of a bell or something.
    Primates, barely.

you could make an argument that the game has changed, but it would be a bad argument
should have -- at the very least -- taken some pitches to try and give garza a little rest
not only would have benefited him, but the team as well
the blame falls with the manager -- in this case, ron roenicke -- who played back in the day and should know (and teach) better
i remember when steve sax first came up
lasorda got on him about (while batting leadoff) not taking his time to let the pitcher get back to the dugout after making an out
sax's response was something like "i just get excited and want to get up there and hit"
lasorda's response was even better; something along the lines of "no problem, i'll put you in the 8-spot and see how excited you still are."
needless to say, the problem was solved

^And not just the manager, but all the coaches should be on top of this stuff. A little whisper in the ear in the on deck circle: "If you swing at the first pitch you will wear your jock around your face in the locker room after the game." I don't know, maybe you can't talk to millionaire ballplayers like that anymore.

It may be a minor point, or maybe not so minor...but if the players and what should be done for a teammate is ignored throughout the sport, then pretty much , it's a different game . BB is BB, but if the guys who play it do it differently, or disregard it, then it's not the same.
Anyway, I think those traditional courtesies have disappeared forever, and it is gone the way of pitching inside without a fight.
Tommy was old school, but I firmly do not expect that from DBB.
The fact he sat Puig after his late thing was a surprise to me, but right on.
Can you imagine Billy Martin managing now?
