I voted for nothing. Remember at the start of the year where we expected nothing? Give Donnie a chance with this team all year and see what happens. At this point, it's on the players if they aren't performing.

One of my biggest concerns is that DBB is not good at managing players with actual talent. He seems to be able to motivate mediocre players but getting stars to reach their potential appears difficult for him. I thought he turned Kemp around but Kemp has regressed badly.

Donnie can't coach stars? Don didn't coach Kemp to get a hamstring injury, but Kemp does have a .970 OPS not to mention he went from that 2010 to 2011 year under Don. Ethier is about 10 or soo points under his career average OPS. Not exactly underachieving. Adrian's been here like two weeks? And hanley has been better wih the dodgers than the marlins. Kershaws been Kershaw, and the staff has been solid as hell. I know we need a scapegoat but this losing streak falls on the players. Doesn't fall on anyone in particular but blaming Don is giving players the credit for the good and coaches the credit for the bad.

I'm sick and tired of changing managers. I say we stay here, we hunt for jobs, and keep saving our money for the worm store.

as much as my confidence in dbb is beginning to fade i agree we should stick w him at least one year w this squad. i don't exactly credit him w the kemp resurgence or blame him for this year. hot start/injury/ probably still not all there.

I'm not sure any of the choices are for me. Including 'nothing'. Something needs to be done, but probably not radical. It's the players' fault, and there's not much we can do about that.

    agree with MZA and TB
    this is on the players
    but I get it...
a lot of new faces/egos trying to get acclimated to/with one another in a very short time
not a matter of if they mesh, but when
and when they do... that's when it'll get fun
just hoping they do it in time to get to the postseason
and btw, props to Beckett and League tonight... VERY encouraging

No changes necessary. I would love to see the rotation be addressed with Grienke or even just another (less expensive) solid starter this offseason.

This team just hasn't had time to mesh at all. I truly believe that this team will turn it around; whether it's this September, or next year. Everyone is just slumping right now. There's no way in hell this team is this bad. Period. We'll be fine. I just don't know when we'll be able to turn this around. Once we start hitting, this division (correction), I mean this league is ours to lose.

Wow...Adrian's been here exactly a week...and DBB is getting blamed? I mean wow...how about a much and I mean MUCH improved Hanley Ramirez? Can you give Adrian Loney a chance? Kemp's had some great stretches this year and the best start ever, he was injured and he's still not right. Victorino hasn't gotten worse either...he's exactly what he was all year...I just hoped he'd improve...maybe yet still. Ethier has also battled some injuries but is almost back to normal. DBB can't motivate stars?

Jeez. Don Mattingly managed a team predicted by most to win 75 games to 10 games over .500 on September 1st and we're firing him?

IMO, I love Donnie. I don't think there's anyone better for this team.

I would agree...but it would still depend on WHY we miss the playoffs. For example, if injuries are really high again, of the Division winner wins 110 games. Yeah, it's not black and white to me.

I wrote that under the assumption that no major injuries are gonna happen next year.
