I've been daydreaming of a three way trade with Seattle where they get kemp, we get Price, Rays get Pederson and Walker

We actually have no centerfielder in L.A. Trading Pederson is absolutely counter-productive.

Seager is as close to a sure thing as we have, and plays a position we've had a drought at for 10 years.

Joc is the only CF in the organization.

I just don't get trading for Price.

I'd rather go for someone who won't cost as much.

It doesn't make sense to trade away Pederson, who everyone is clamoring for, and if traded, would leave us with no true CF.

Or Seager, whom everyone feels will be our 3B/SS of the future. We've been in dire need of a consistent 3B for years since McCourt left Beltre walk.

I know they're young and unproven, but what is our future going to look like if we trade away to win now, and winning in baseball isn't guaranteed?

Kershaw/Grienke/Price/Ryu/#5. Okay, cool. Awesome starters. But our pitching has never been a huge issue. Our offense has. An offense that is as up and down as one can get. There has to be someone else that won't destroy our farm.

If Guerrero starts taking flyballs in the corner outfield spots and Puig is seeing more time in center, things might be brewing. But at this point, it just doesn't work.

Even that wouldn't work. Too many cards being shuffled. The defense sucks as it is.

The Dodgers are going to have to get creative.

I'm going to say it because it needs to be said.

    Fuck Price.

We need to get young and trading our top prospects for a starter we don't need is stupid. If the price of Price is either/or Joc or Seagar then forget it. We don't need him. Every time I see in an article that the Dodgers are the frontrunners/favorites/logical destination for Price I want to throw up.

    Feel free to criticize...

    and be wrong.

I'm assuming, based on these "reports", that the two abatrosses, Ethier and Crawford are staying in Dodger Blue? let's face it, they both are flaccid and meek players with sad numbers. And of all the tradeable OFs we have, only KKemp is attractive to other teams?
Seems about right. If we get a guy like Price , it's worth it, IMO. But anything other than some one his caliber, is another Ned FUBAR or SNAFU.
I don't think the kids should be used, as those particular positions in the LAD organization are fraught with , uh, nothing looking too good in the future. Or now, even...
Throw in one. two, of our high priced BS RPs (if Ned can wield his "magic"), or something like that. I also wouldn't be oppo to using SVS, which is probably not popular. I like him, and he certainly hits for power, but overall, over rated I think. His swing is pretty radical, and maybe I'm wrong, but he commits the LL mistake, of turning his head...inexcusable at the ML level. Maybe just me. But for a team looking for some pop in the OF, coming with a long side in his age, he could be a useful bargaining chip.
I guess everyone else considers him untouchable.
Anyway, it doesn't matter what any of us write, because, thankfully, it's all in the omnipotent hands of Ned.
    jeez...

I would hate to give up one or two of Pederson/Seager/Urias plus others to get Price so if I'm the Dodgers, I pass on him this season. Fuck it, let him hit free agency and sign him then for just cash.

Urias is expendable IMO. What are the chances throwing that hard at his age that his elbow doesn't blow out like what seems like 90% of other young power arms nowadays?

Five teams are showing interest in Matt Kemp
by Craig Calcaterra | NBC Hardball Talk -- 3 hours ago

    [IMG]Getty Images

Jon Heyman reports that five teams "are said to have shown interest, or at least talked to" the Dodgers about Matt Kemp. The identities are unknown.

It may be that the Dodgers have the least interest in him given that they have a glut out outfielders, none of which are really playing in the position to which they’re best-suited at the moment. Still, moving Kemp could be tough. His production, while good at times this season, is nowhere near the level it was back when he earned te contract that is paying him another $107 million through 2019.

I'll respectfully disagree. Having Urias maturing in the minors is hand in glove with passing on guys like Price. Until he blows his elbow out you continue to groom him and plan a future rotation with him as a key component. As long as we have cards like that to play we avoid huge salary payouts in the future like we are experiencing right now. With the rotation we have right now we can afford to bring Urias along in a few years when possibly Grienke opts out or a serious (God forbid) injury occurs.

Yeah, most any prospect has a downside. Seager, Joc and Urias are untouchables IMO.

I don't want another Pedro when it comes to trading Urias.

Would be cool to see Kemp fire his agent then go on to tear the cover off the ball and help us win it all. Too bad this isn't 2011. :sulk:
