now it not only the red sox are considering kemp for a lester rental but lester is openly talking about returning to boston after the season. this has to be bs and if bernie makes this deal i think we need to take things into our own hands. fuck off boston.

smh we don't need to get rid of Kemp; we need to get rid of Dave Stewart

I wouldn't be opposed to that.

Just feel like it's a big risk to hope for Kemp's skillset to come back and if we can get a quality return for him (like Lester; although there will have to be other pieces involved), we should do it.

Lester could also walk after the season, which is an even bigger risk

We could sign Lester this Winter (although I prefer Scherzer)

I think I'd rather have Lester, Scherzer seems overrated (I guess Lester is too now that I think about it, but beggars can't be choosers in this day and age), and Lester is a proven gamer in the postseason.

Scherzer is pretty dominant, IDK, I think I like him more than Lester

    Big money, either way

All of a sudden, I like KKemp again, and really don't want to see him go. But I will deal with it, just like I had to deal with Brian Wilson, the contrived freakazoid out there, especially when he sucked. It looks like he doesn't suck any more though.
I know all the talk is about Lester and Scherzer here, but (and I hate to say it after such an intoxicating weekend), but we need some kind of catcher who can hit better than AJ's meek .200. I know he calls a nice game (and a hot O can carry him, I guess), but this guy has to get a hit once in a while.
Probably not a priority or even on the docket at all, but along with mediocre plate blockage, a healthy share of PBs, and below average runners thrown out, we need at least some offensive production.
He's a nice guy and funny and handles CK (probably his biggest asset), and I know it's a tough nut back there, but a Mendoza line BA is really ridiculously bad.

Kemp seems pretty happy in right, no? He's starting to hit. I'd like to see him stay. If he sucks down the stretch, we can look to move him in the offseason.

As far as Lester, if he does return to Boston after the season as he's hinted, that would really suck. Next year they'd have Lester and our prospects. Ned should stay far away from this one.

Ellis' still does put up a .350 OBP% and has a good relationship with the pitchers, he's ok for now

But I will agree in the next year or 2 we need a new catcher (I don't think FedEx will ever be the guy he could be :( )

If Kemp gets on a hot streak, his offensive numbers are pretty solid. Seems like he can't break the .270s. If he can get that OPS over .800, you can deal with his defense in the corners.

Kershaw has the 3rd most rWAR in the league. With him missing like 5 starts too

Kershaw is the easy Cy Young at this rate

3 in 4 years (really should be 4 in a row)

    Just some fun with numbers

Take away the Arizona game and Kershaw has a 1.22 ERA in 110.2 innings
    Thats fucking mind boggling tbh

Aggregated to 230 IP Kershaw numbers are

    25 wins
    4 losses
    289 K
    30 BB
    10.5 rWAR

If Puig could pop some more homers and get on another hot streak, he's a serious candidate also.

He is having the best year for a pitcher that any of us have seen or will see in a long time. It's just too bad that BSPN spends so much time blowing Wainwright and the Cards the way they do. The whole routine is getting old, IMO... I think the press will penalize CK for missing the first month of the season, although what we are witnessing is a once in a lifetime performer in Kershaw.

let me see if i've got this right...
you believe he'll be traded, but it's unclear whether he actually will?
    :retard:
    • Jon Morosi of FOX Sports still feels that David Price will be traded before Thursday’s deadline and the southpaw won’t make his scheduled start on Wednesday afternoon. This said, Morosi noted that it is still very unclear whether Tampa will decide to trade their ace.

Looks like the Dodgers are going to get Darwin Barney http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/barneda01.shtml

Seems weird to me. He's terrible offensively, great defensively but mostly at 2B (hasn't played SS for a couple years). "Hits" right handed

Idk how he is ANY different then Miguel Rojas
