The Guggs need to show us why they're the Guggs.

I say bring up Reed to start in place of Haren on Wednesday. He couldn't be any worse, could he? He was a college pitcher taken in the first round - a rarity for the Dodgers - and then he's put in two full seasons and parts of two others in the minors. He's now pitched at Chattanooga for 2+ seasons, and has put up decent numbers, so it appears that they're reluctant to expose him to the PCL. Let's bring him up and see what he can do.

Idk if it's Lee, Reed, or Patterson but I think at this point you just can't justify keeping Haren along. The Dodgers have tried everything. Giving him a few shitty starts in a row, giving him a long break to restart... same result

Even if Lee, Reed, Patterson struggle I bet they have at least better stuff then Haren. Haren was throwing 82-87 or so with all his pitches. You can't succeed when you don't change velocity and everything is flat.

Maybe it's a shitty way to see it, but maybe one of the rookies at least goes 5-6 innings in a start. Haren was okay in the beginning of the year but at least he was giving the team 6 innings but when he goes 4 innings a start it fucks up all the games after him.

fuck Lester... give me Scherzer if we go after a big pitcher

I was thinking James Shields might be a great cheaper option though, too.

Lester won't cost a pick; the other two will.

I really hate how you lose picks for signing guys. Maybe a second or third rounder. First rounders are stupid.

Samardzija could also be an option. He isn't costing a pick either. Give me Lester though. Won't cost a pick, Career #'s are similar, Lester only a year older, and Lester did it in the AL East.

Scherzer/Lester/Shields seem excessive. I'd love to sign Ervin Santana or Jason Hammel.

I'd go for Lester to not lose a pick.

Can't remember the exact number of innings needed for harens next year to be guaranteed but I know that we are approaching that figure. He will certainly be dropped soon. I think the number on him jumps to around 15m or something crazy. They are just getting a few more innings out of him before they send him on his way.
