The more I think about it the more I want Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez (MAG) our starting 4 would be absolutely filthy and then we'd have insane competition in the minors to get that final spot.
Seems like we might be close to a deal for Ricky Nolasco. Before reacting, I wanna see what it's for. If nothing significant goes to Miami, I like it cause it makes Fife the starter to call up instead of magill. The thing that scares me is giving up somehing significant and/or Nolasco having a good year and since he's a FA to be, Ned giving him a fat extension as he seems to do when we trade for rental pieces like this
@MLBNetworkRadio: .@Jim_Duquette hearing from 2 high level execs involved w/ the talks that #Marlins SP Ricky Nolasco to the #Dodgers, maybe as soon as today @JonHeymanCBS: #dodgers are in talks for giant killer ricky nolasco. #fish http://t.co/xPPOBaOD7t
I'm okay as long as we don't give up anything of value for a fourth starter. But this is Ned, so of course I won't be okay with it.
@Buster_ESPN: LAD have made progress in the talks for Marlins right-hander Ricky Nolasco. 1 source places chances of this deal being finished at 70-30.
I'm pretty sure we are going to get Nolasco just because the Marlins are all about dumping cash and who what team can absorb cash better than any, the Dodgers. We better be giving up a nobody prospect.
You will all scream because something like an Andrew Lambo, Jerry Sands, Juan Guzman, Trayvon Robinson, Andy LaRoche, Josh Bell is going for Nolasco!
And you'll be right here in 4 years gloating. "I told you so" Are you by any chance BLF's biological father? Sorry BLF. I shouldn't group you with this mustached disgrace!!!!
Best thing about Nolasco is that he loves the Dodgers. I remember last year when we were facing him and Lyons on commentary was saying he was talking to him and mentioned a possible trade to the Dodgers. Nolasco pretty much said not to tease him like that and it would be his ultimate dream.
Actually I read the Marlins are willing to pay his salary which would raise the question. Why would they do that unless they REALLY want him out of there which would make me very wary of trading for him. As for Gonzales, if the Dodgers do sign him to that amount that means to me that he would be on the staff by the trade deadline in which case we can tell the Marlins no thank you.
