Drury is a solid player in that park, I’d rather have him than Souza

At all. Not a proven plus bat..not a plus defensive player. They're banking on potential and even then, he's not rolling in with that much potential. A better fit in the NL as opposed to Martinez and Dickerson and their terrible defense in the OF, though.

If I'm Tampa I think I'd hold onto the pitching, starting and relieving..the demand is usually a bit greater at the trade deadline..guys getting hurt during the season, season playing out and teams feeling the pressure to go for it. I don't know

    Yeah he's got some SLG
DBacks probably had to stop for a sec before pulling the trade..and wonder if they were letting NYY get another Gregorius..where he goes and figures it out to another level in that little ballpark

Kiermaier is the OF I want from Tampa. He was mad about the Dickerson/DFA and Odorizzi trade..wonder how he feels now that another bites the dust

If Kiermaier becomes available, there is not a single player on the farm you don’t offer up for him. Dude is elite in CF and that contract is awesome.

Whoooaaa. Don't think I'd be cool with Ruiz going for Kiermaier..maybe not Buehler either. I like Kiermaier a lot, but to a point. Not a spotless guy or a superstar. I'd need a superstar in return for Ruiz, or at least hold onto Ruiz until he reaches that point. Don't think it's time to sell him yet, if ever. I love that Kiermaier is under contract for the next 6 years, but he has a couple hang ups. His games played go as follows..108, 151, 105, and 98 this past season. Taking the chance on spotty durability, that has to be accounted for. Solid offensive player, but maybe not on the level of the improved Chris Taylor..although, of course he's proven it for a while longer than Taylor. His BABIP was a bit high as well last season. I think Kiermaier may be that .760 OPS range type of CF, which of course, isn't great for a CF, but it plays well enough if the defense holds up.

His defense took a step back last year, but he battled health related stuff for a lot of the year, so I don't really hold that against him. Think he'd be great with a clean bill of health. I think LAD could build something for Kiermaier without giving up Ruiz or Buehler..the big swing guy would probably be Verdugo and if Tampa is willing to take him with his little hang ups.

Start a Kiermaier offer with Verdugo, maybe throw in 2 of May/White/Santana and then possibly wrap it up with Will Smith. Even that seems like a lot. If they want more than that..may have to say tough tits and move on at that point. I don't even like the idea of Tampa perhaps taking Kemp off of LAD's hands in order to buy Ruiz from LAD..Will Smith be damned. But maybe LAD low-key loves Will Smith enough to do that? I wouldn't.

Didn't say that.....just said it would have been nice to see him in LF. I still feel this line up needs a bit more pop.

That’s what I think is funny about the whole thing. Is it really worth pissing off the players and fans to shave off potentially 5-10 minutes off of a game?

I think it’s a solid trade for AZ. Souza had a good year last year and they’re banking on that to happen again. All they had to do was give up Brandon Drury who is a below league average hitter with inflated numbers at Chase Field.

With Peralta, Pollock and Tomas, he was already looking at the 4th guy out there. Souza pushes him to 5th and potentially makes Tomas expendable.
