Hitters got to hit. AGon has been disappointing. We need solid efforts from everyone. By the way, get SVS an at bat or two Donnie.
3 games that could have went either way and they didn't win any of them. If they just take one of them you're talking about a split. I just don't get why this franchise has this stigma. These are good players. Even Nolasco is a good player. When it comes down to it they just cannot get it done and I'm not sure I get it. I'm not convinced the Cardinals are better than the Dodgers. So I don't quite get it.
So coming back from 1-3 down is nearly impossible, but not completely impossible, so there is still hope. But Mattingly is consistently managing games as if it were the regular season and they were playing a 4 game series before the all star break. It's too bad that Hanley is injured and Kemp is out and Dre has bum wheels, but YOU HAVE TO WIN GAME 4 if you want a fighting chance. This happened to us twice against the Phillies, and Don should know better. You put the best pitcher you have available and let the dice roll where they may. You don't sub Dee for your heavy hitter and don't have him steal. You don't pull Kershaw with 72 pitches. You don't send a slow Ellis on a shallow fly to their best out fielder. You don't sub in Schumacher and Young who have done nothing for you. It's just a shame. This series should be closer.
someone on offense has to find it in themselves to carry this team with a huge game tomorrow. Lets fucking do this. lets kill them with their high hopes, just another obstacle
We are playing down two of our better players. Game 1 a healthy ethier probably catches that ball in center. Game 2 they catch a break on a passed ball that sets up the only run and tonight we lose hanley again. Granted our offense has been shit but it's been better than theirs all series yet we are still down. Minus tonight our pitching has been better too.
So first we blame Nolasco, and now onto Mattingly? Things are falling apart. One game at a time. I still feel pretty good with Greinke/CK/Ryu going.
This is all on the offense. So many fucking chances and they just can't get it done. Only thing I didn't like from Mattingly was Michael Young. STOP. PLAYING. HIM. I don't give a rats ass about veteran leadership if the guy can't do anything other than groundout. Give Van Slyke a chance, Don.
With Zack, CK, & Ryu I like our chances. Just need 3 runs in each game and we can win. 3 FUCKING RUNS BOYS!!!
3 best pitchers have to win 3 straight games. Might as well try to do it. I'm not convinced the Cardinals are better. Unfortunately we are dropping like flies so it's gonna take a little bit of magic.
I hated the Nolasco start from the get go....I don't think he showed that he deserved it, or could handle it at this point in time. His gutless AB with the bases loaded was enough to make you puke, and right after that, he went out and sucked some more. Fuck this guy. I'd rather have seen a short rest Greinke, or even a Capuano, so ridiculously left off the roster for the useless Dee Gordon. What a jerkoff decision from the LAD "braintrust". Some fucking brains- the same brains that put out a Hanley Ramirez, as game as the guy is, bless his heart, who had about as much a shot at doing something as Nolasco lasting into the 5th. Punto, the sonambulist, or some Young/Punto combo should have started the game. Hanley might be shot now... totally. Their 5'9" 165 lb. dwarf hits a homer; ours grounds into an inning ending double play. Martinez comes in and the announcers immediately begin masturbating over his "electric" stuff. The guy has a 5+ ERA, and batters are hitting .285 against him...I guess somebody hit him pretty well at some point, eh? Of course, after the Nick pick, it's inning over. Wonder what Danny deVito thought? And let's face it it...we can't hit for shit. We suck at it. If it wasn't for a fuckup by Jay and Beltran, and then Jay again, we would have had as many runs as the scumbag Cards did last night-none. WE were lucky we won. But nobody can out-luck the Cardinals....never could. It doesn't matter how well Kershaw, Greinke or Ryu pitch...we are a totally incomplete BB team, after all is said and done.
If Greinke is on, give him a 120 pitch count. Wilson should be ready if needed in the 7th and use Jansen for 2 if necessary. Hopefully Kelly is still wild tomorrow and the offense isn't as over amped as they were in game 1 against him. Poetic justice would be for Hanley to knock Kelly out of the game on a comebacker in the first. I feel it was on purpose what he did.
