IMO, leaders in baseball are overrated... baseball is a team sport where the player performs individually... you cant say "they go as Kemp goes" (stupid Steve Lyons), cuz Kemp bats once every 9 times... its about players carrying their own weight and doing what they should do... Victorino has been crap for us (just as he was with Philly this year), Hanley has been quiet, Kemp hasnt done much, Ethier needs another hole in his hand, Hanley was hitless in the last 3 games or so... you get a bunch of good guys together and they perform cuz they are good, not because someone pushes them to do it...

We don't know what the clubhouse is like. Players, managers, ex players, etc don't downplay leadership at all. I think it's for real. It is a team sport. It's dependent on individual EXECUTION, but still a team sport as much as any. I suppose it is easy to say they are emotionless dickheads when they aren't performing. So we'll see.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing, but I know that Tyler Colvin guy in RF because I think he got a broken bat "speared" into the chest when he was a Cubby. so I think I know one.

Rosario. That stupid son of a bitch hits a home-run every time we play the Rockies.

Don't fear people. I made a purchase of an Adrian Gonzalez road jersey for $67 tonight so we're bound to kick some ass. I'll get the mojo on our side (I must say, that I'm not responsible for tomorrow's outcome tho).

thats absolutely it TB. he is the nucleus. we have a couple of nice complementary superstars if there is such a thing. they certainly are paid that way but maybe thats the missing link. a dodger identity. i think kemp wants to be that guy fwiw. still. fail.

Well when I was there Friday and especially Saturday, the team looked all fired up and totally happy and having fun. Similair to what we saw in SF when we swept them. Now, they look lost, dazed, and lazy again. I thought the new blood might end these stints of shit, but it's still there. Everyone is gone except Kemp and Ethier. I hate to blame things on them but they are all that remains from the last few years.

the leadership I mean is field leadership... in basketball, you know Kobe will man up down by 10 with 5 mins left... he will carry the team... baseball is different... leadership is key when the team is on free fall (we arent remotely there yet) but on times like this, is more about every player being accountable...

Well I agree, it is and should be Kemp...and judging by his balls out play tonight, he was trying to get the team going. I wish he'd find safer ways of doing it though.

so it sounds like we all agree it is the lack of or misguided leadership on the field. dbb and staff are justifying their paychecks?

now that you mention a jersey, here a quick story...

a co-worker/friend that lives in Miami and is also a big Dodgers fan went to the Marlins series last weekend with his 7 year old kid... after one of the games he stayed to try to get autographs and sees Chad already showered and dressed up. So, he tells his kid "look, there's Chad" and the kid goes with a ball and a sharpie to get the autograph... Chad accepts to give the autograph and when he opens the sharpie, the thing went flying and stained all Chad's shirt... my friend was really embarrassed but he says that when he told Chad that he was sorry he didnt looked pissed at all and said "dont worry, its nothing".

    now, back to the bashing...

I wouldn't care if I made millions. It'd just give me an excuse to buy a whole bunch of new clothes. Hahaha.

But that's good to hear that Bills was cool about it. You never know with some of these famous people.

Loney seemed like a nice guy and he has signed a ball for my sister and I years ago. At one point, I thought this guy was going to be a solid .300/25HRs/110RBIs hitter year in and year out. It just didn't work out. I wish him the best of luck, it's just that his career in blue was a major tease.

I asked Loney to sign Kemp's name on my ball. He didn't like that, so he went on for 4 more years ruining my Dodger Fan experience.

TB be honest, you've been wanting to start this thread since May....

Anyways, I am still confident. Too many good players. Everyone is playing a bit down. They all go on a tear and we are easily capable of winning 13 of 15. All good in my hood.

This is solely the one thing I'm banking on. This team is too good.
