I think we're done, when we're mathematically done.

WEll, I'll count us out of the West when our SF series are meaningless. If we sweep them next, which it is our turn to do, we are right there again. I never underestimate head to head games...they are huge.

The weird part is that you really can't blame anyone in particular. You can blame Donnie/Hansen if you want, under the case that he isn't getting what you should be getting from the current talent but then can you ignore when we were without Kemp and when he was getting a lot of people to overachieve?

Do you blame anyone in particular in the middle of the order? Kemp has been obviously the best but not been there a lot, Ethier has had his down streaks but has also been there more than anyone in that middle of the order and still has a higher overall OPS than Adrian/Hanley. Adrian has barely been here. Hanley has been awesome with us but can be frustrating on defense and has had some of the worst ABs. Shane? Idk, sure I guess but he's done enough and at this point he isn't going to make or break the team.

Who do you blame? Injuries? Luck? It's everyone and no one really.

We're not out, no way, and we all know we're fucking insane cause we are going to tune in at 7 PM Pacific Time tomorrow to watch torture. But man, it's getting really sad. We won earlier in the year in a time where it would have been okay to lose cause we had a shit team, and now we can't win when we are suppose to win. Torture, really is torture.

spoken like someone starting a family. left out promoting personal responsibility and encouraging people not to accept entitlements as a way of life. if you have an able body and your faculties there needs to be a contribution to society.

It'd be dumb to point fingers. When you lose 7/10 games in this fashion it's safe to assume that everything is going wrong. You cannot blame ownership anymore. The talent is right there in front of us. And that's why this shit hurts. I think the most common phrase going through my mind lately during these games is, "what the fuck?". That's all I can say about some of this shit.

Look, baseball is a hard sport. It's a game of failure. Teams go through bad stretches. But losing so many games to bottom feeders shouldn't get a pass. Especially now. The post season in baseball is a pretty exclusive club. Teams that can't win at home or win any big games against division rivals are gonna have a tough time getting in.

We have a great chance to get into the playoffs here, but I think we've about played ourselves out of the division. Below .500 against the NL West, 14-25 at home since whatever month, the inconsistency...

It will take a big choke job by the Giants, suddenly losing to terrible teams that they always beat. We will also have to beat them 5/6 times in my opinion.

I won't GIVE UP until we are eliminated from contention. But I stand by my thoughts that the NL West has been choked.

I think the WC is more realistic. But nothing would make me happier than hearing the whining from Giants fans as we come from behind and steal a playoff spot from those faggots.

Yeah, if (seems like when at this point) we miss the playoffs I think the blame falls solely on the players. Ned did everything he could to put a team full of superstars out there, even if it meant mortgaging some of the future, and the owners handed him a blank check. These guys laid down. And I get it, it's a sport that runs on streaks, and if you replayed this past week we probably would have won 7/10 instead of lose, but if someone is to be blamed, it's the players.

if the climate is too laid back in the clubhouse.
not saying it is or it isn't, but by a lot of accounts it is.
that sends a bad message whether its direct or subconsciously.
all i know it from dbb on down it doesn't seem to bother anyone too much that things are slipping through our hands.
the passion and fire are nowhere to be found.
just wasted abs and sub par play all around.
not saying it can be totally pinned on our staff but mental toughness is not a hallmark of this squad.

I think the real problem is that we don't have Stephen Fife here anymore. I mean think about it, the dude has a 1.000 AVG, with a 1.000 OBP, and a 2.000 OPS. Why did we send him down? lol

Everyone seems to be taking batting practice AB's - taking their hacks and then mostly sitting down. They are not playing as a team to score runs - not very often, anyways. I don't think the first two guys in the lineup even understand their job in the lineup: get on base and make something happen. So, it's definitely not a dynamic lineup built for the rally. And I don't know what the coaches can do about it if these guys don't want to win. :deadhorse:
