Nah man, this team is finally coming together. Believe it or not Dee is the spark this team really needed, he still kinda sucks, but man can he add some energy. I mean Cruz, Sellers pitcher was just so fucking depressing it doesn't surprise me the team looked like they didn't give a fuck. Our team is about to click (barring another fucking injury). Took management ST and a month-and-a-half to figure it out, but I think we are finally at where we should have started the season. Crawford/Gonzo/AJ just fucking solid, and Ethier and Kemp figuring out without HGH they will be alright single hitters, better than what they were giving us. And Hanley and Zack being back, gonna be fun to watch. Just hope we can repair the damage by October in the standings.

Just really enjoyed the last two days, haven't done so since about July last year. Hope it continues.

    yeah, it's looking way better.
I can't help feeling a little scared when League comes in though. IDK what he's doing so differently than last season (from his initial problems on, that is), but he seems to be pretty damn easy to hit. I mean, if Uribe doesn't flash that leather for the 3rd out, they just might have went on to tie it all, but you never know. He needs to ramp it up.
I think the next few series with the Nats and Brewers and Atlanta could be a springboard for us....I feel they are very important in the overall scheme of the season already. We've got to play well against the better teams , too....not just the Marlins, etc. If we can hold our own against these better teams, then maybe we can go at the NLW and kick some ass (which is ultra-imperative) like we used to not so very long ago. Remember when we pretty much owned the west?
We've got to play kick ass baseball just to get back to .500, but every great journey starts with a single step.

And Dee, much to his credit, is having way better ABs than he used to. He seems to have much better pitch recognition than before.

Wow...we win 2/3 from the Marlins and now people are picking sweep over the Nats? I don't see Beckett as effective at all, unless the previous starts were some kind of abberation...the guy is a below average pitcher now , IMO. Hope I'm wrong... but I don't see a sweep in a million years.

GOT has way too many characters popping up almost every week. It's hard to know who they all are and the inter-relationship between them. I don't think that's good writing to just cram as many different tangents in an hour long program as you can. Maybe it will all come together in the end, but right now, it's a confusing miasma , and way too talky.
I'm still most interested in the khaleesi and her tale, and still wish I had a pet dragon....more than ever. She doesn't waste much time...it's like "do this, exactly what I say, or we will fuck you up so badly"...she is the Abraham Lincoln of her time, evidently.
First round immolations for me if (I had a pet dragon): Paul Goldschmidt. Then, Pablo Sandoval... then Cargo....then, send a sympathy card to Vinny.

overstating the obvious, beckett needs to step the fuck up

East meets West as Nationals pay visit to Dodgers
Zimmermann set to square off against Beckett in opener
    By Joey Nowak / MLB.com | 5/12/2013 7:56 PM ET

East Coast will clash with West Coast when the Dodgers and Nationals meet for the first time Monday at Dodger Stadium in a series pitting two teams with lofty expectations.

The high-payroll Dodgers have underachieved thus far, while the loaded Nationals are heating up a little more than a month into the season. Both teams have playoff hopes. Washington, still chasing division-rival Atlanta in the National League East, has won five of seven. The Dodgers lost eight straight before winning back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday against another NL East foe, Miami.

The pitching matchup Monday will feature an established ace in Los Angeles' Josh Beckett and an emerging one in Washington's Jordan Zimmermann. However, only Zimmermann has pitched like one thus far in 2013.

Zimmermann has been the best of a vaunted Washington rotation, going 6-1 with a 1.59 ERA. In his last outing, he allowed one run on seven hits while striking out seven and walking two to become the NL's first six-game winner.

"Jordan is fun to watch. He attacks guys. I think this year, he's just smarter, more mature," Nationals reliever Tyler Clippard said. "This year, more than any other year, he is throwing a lot more breaking balls for strikes. He is throwing their timing off. On top of that, he is locating. With all of that going for him, he is doing a tremendous job. Hope he keeps it going."

Beckett needs to get something going, as he's still in search of his first win of the year. The righty is winless in seven starts for the first time in his career, though he hasn't given up a home run in two May starts after surrendering eight in April.

"I felt like I've done a better job of not letting them hit the ball hard in my last couple starts," Beckett said.

It's Washington's first trip to Dodger Stadium since late April of last year, when then-rookie phenom Bryce Harper made his Major League debut on April 28. He notched his first hit (a double) and RBI in that game, en route to the NL Rookie of the Year Award.

Harper has kept up the torrid pace this season. Entering the road trip, Harper is batting .297 with 10 homers, 21 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

The Dodgers' own superstar outfielder, Matt Kemp, enters with an 11-game hitting streak. He's hitting .326 (15-for-46) during the stretch, which began on April 30. It's the longest hit streak for a Dodger this year, and the 11th double-digit streak of Kemp's career. He also recorded the 1,000th hit of his career in Sunday's 5-3 win.

I really think Beckett is due of a good start... he looked so good against the DBacks that its amazing he has been this crappy... but my main worry is the offense... we should score 6 runs per game...

sadly, we would find a way to allow 7...

The Nats just lost two of three to the cubs.....at home....with strausburg and gio pitching in the losses. I could see us winning 2 of 3.

    Hey it could it happen.
