Brad Ausmus sounds good to me, but what if he's another "old school" type? We don't know what style he will use and that's frightening. What if he cannot keep the peace in the clubhouse? What if - what if? At least with Don we know what we have and it was successful. That is unless anything less than a WS title is unsuccessful in which case enjoy being upset 99% of the time no matter who your team is. Even the Cardinals don't win it most years.

Per several twitter updates. Mattingly wasn't involved in the decision, management wants experienced NL game manager as replacement.
I'm not advocating for Donny to be canned, i'm just saying if he goes i'd prefer Ausmus to all those old guys.
Could you even fucking imagine what a disaster it would be having LaRussa or Leyland dealing with Puig
Yeah, I love the idea of an ivy leaguer and a catcher managing. Good brains! However, I'd like to see him as a bench coach for awhile first. We should steal him from the Tigers org, and make him the Hillman replacement.
Dont worry... this is worth its own thread... I always found interesting that he had Hillman as bench coach, as he has been an AL guy... and not a very good manager on his own... I know they love Lopes as 1B coach, but I always thought he was a better fit for bench coach... Wallach is also a good fit, but I doubt DBB accepts management imposing Wallach as bench coach...
I thought that was interesting too, both Donnie and trey were AL guys. Do you think Torre's old bench coach Larry Bowa could be welcomed back?
@THEREAL_DV: The Dodgers wanted to replace Hillman last off season, but Mattingly resisted the change. #dodgers
