Are people really hating dre for saying he wants to start? I mean, he didn't bash the team. He just wants to play, man.
i praise dre for keeping his mouth shut last season, which (as it turns out) was the antithesis of kemp this is the right time to bring it up, which is why friedman himself said said he totally understood the problem is, even after kemp's departure, dre is at best the 5th best option for a starting spot behind joc/puig/carl/svs reading between the lines, i think what dre was really saying was trade me somewhere where i might get a chance has to suck for him i'm sure some AL would be willing to give him a chance to win an OF/DH spot if we kicked in enough $$$
Just stuff rattling around in my head: McCarthy for 4 years doesn't seem right because you know Urias will be ready inside of two. Maybe the FO is thinking get two good years out of McCarthy and flip him for value, opening up a spot for Urias in 2017. Then waiting for next years free agent pitching crop to sign a big name and hopefully that influences Grienke to stay for the chance to win a ring. Anyway, if we add another starter I don't think it will be a big name. IMO, Hamels, Scherzer, & Shields are not happening.
they have a friend in Beane. Lol and the Marlins as well. but yea, they have the money to make a problem like that disappear. put 12M on McCarthy's books 2 years from now..he gone.
thanks for the response. It's not my take on Shields...I'd be happy with him. But I've heard it more than once, so I was curious what you thought. Greinke? anything is possible...I hope he stays.
