Really Lester just sucks. Dude doesn't have a "personal catcher" because everyone wants to catch him... pretty much the opposite of that. Still pisses me off that we let this guy get in our head.
indians were the team i was most concerned about had we advanced (lol) that staff is pretty serious and the team is playing really well think the cubs are gonna grip
hasn't been here since Sept 10 so he posted on facebook roughly two weeks later guessing he's alright at least i certainly hope so
I was thinking about this actually...he should have been absolutely sent by Dave, and it shouldn't even have been left up to him. That game was do or die for us, so Dave needed to take charge. Big time. Plenty of opportunities. Coulda made a definite difference. I found a serious flaw in that, just like I did last year, against the Mets, when Donnie failed to instruct Seagar to get over to 3 rd after that shift. That was doomsday for us. Both games had mgr. brain farts in them, imo.
Not sure what they were thinking not running on Lester. I sincerely doubt Seager wasn't told about covering third. It was a rookie mistake and a lack of communication from the other infielders.
I don't blame Corey completely because Greinke needs to be looking to cover 3B as well. On that particular play it should have been Corey, but in general when the shift is on depending on where the ball is hit Corey will have to cover 2B at times - and in those cases it leaves the pitcher to cover 3B.
