Griffey was no doubt a premiere generational type talent but was one of the biggest pricks in baseball

IMO, Griffey is the definition of a HOF player. There are a number of guys in recent years who have been voted in simply for being really good players whose numbers add up. In his prime Griffey played on another level.

Griffey also had great video games with his name on them.

I hate how people won't vote for Lee Smith, Trevor Hoffman probably won't get in first ballot (or first 5 years for that matter), yet Mo Rivera will get 90%+ in 2018.

problem is the voting criteria isn't clearly defined
and a lot of the voters are jaded, out-of-touch, bitter old fucks
that whole "babe ruth and ty cobb didn't get 100%, so I'm not voting for this guy" is such assbackwards thinking, and continues to perpetuate the problem
and anyone who doesn't vote for a sure thing HOF-er (maddux, ripken, gwynn, et al) should have their voting privileges revoked

Your entire post is spot on

The essence is in the final sentence. The BBWAA needs to clean it's damn closet big time.

It's not that I agree or don't agree about them holding back all the roid junkies, but all of them use that addled thinking that they simply will not permit a "STAR" into the Hall because of 'whatever' reasons. So some players treated hacks like shit? So fucking what? There is no way that certain players should not get a 100%. And just because some 'other' old dick didn't vote for Ruth or Cobb doesn't mean that they can ignore today's stud players. So I think that BBWAA should actually remove voting privileges for those so far out of whack that they DID NOT vote for someone whom every other writer did vote for.

Not that they give solitary fuck about what I think...

Not that I'd suggest the HoF voting be fan based either...

    Heaven fucking forbid.

They can't take the fan vote for the All Star game away fast enough to suit me.

Yeah I agree though mostly because the voting has become soooooo fucked up and skewed by permitting 30 votes from each IP address.. stupidity

Register on MLB.com and get one vote per fan ID.. then the votes become more sane again..

    ...it'll never happen

Edmonds clearly doesn't belong but the video if him running through a wall should be played on constant loop somewhere in Cooperstown

Hoffman doesn't belong, Mo absolutely does. Hoffman was just ok in the playoffs, but overall not a HOF'er. I feel like in the biggest games, you felt there was always a chance against Hoffman for him to fuck it up. Never had that feeling with Mo on the mound. Shit, the moment he is most know for when he DID fuck up, would have been a weak broken bat liner to Jeter if he wasn't playing in. Fun fact, my avatar is from the night that the 4+1 game happened. Was getting ready to go out and party when that shit went down...I partied hard that night in Hawai'i, good times.

Yeah but it's also a sample size argument. Mo had so many chances to shine and get 3 fucking outs in meaningful games... Hoffman dominated regular season but didn't have near the post season opportunities.

guys are also given more votes based on rings and team accomplishment.

The same props should be given for doing what they did without those team milestones...

Also which guy are you in avatar pic? The guy with the blue polo looking all " hard"?

Smile a little bkitch !!! Haha

Yeah, I am sure you are right about Hoffman. Just from my personal point of view, I was never scared of him and have vivid memories of him fucking up in the clutch(4+1 game and Game 163 most of all). With those most being the most striking and then you look at what Mo was to everyone, it makes me feel that he was short on the greatness.

HAHA! My dad and I are known for ruining pictures one way or another. My buddies and I were all laughing about something, one of the girls said cheese and I struck. There were other photos that night, but we all thought that picture was the funniest and it always makes me laugh.
