This is a stand alone topic by the way the others have gone. The settlement has been filed with the court and now we can see who/what/when and how this should play out moving forward. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-1208-dodgers-mlb-20111208-9,0,6497071.story So it appears this is a preview of what and how things will hopefully unfold on schedule
From Bloomberg on the topic with their financial twist http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...ent-agreement-with-major-league-baseball.html
The media deal being non-binding is great news and it makes me want McCourt to beat FOX cuz I hate those assholes.
me either. bottom line is its going to sell and he needs to satisfy a lot of debt. i like how he's trying to leverage everything he possibly can as he's washed down the drain.
as a dodgers fan i really cant see how people can still have problems with the way things are going to come out for us once this is all said and done other than mccourt getting everything he wants which might piss a lot of people off, they should take solace in what that means for us as fans it means we are going to get the highest sale price ever for a team which guarantees we are going to be purchased by someone with deep pockets no mccourts can swim in these waters fuck off steve garveys of the world the guy that drops over a bill for this team will only have ONE way to do things, one BLUEprint and thats for us to be the big ass market team we have always been destined to be the Dodgers should be run like the Lakers there is no reason why they arent i think we might finally get that chance if we get a guy who lives the game and is just as smart and crafty as mccourt but not as much of a moron as it comes to everything else... and thats the Gilbert group there is massive money behind that guys bid, and he has lots of experience in the game at all levels forget about wanting ex Dodgers to own the team, thats never been a smart move you are limiting yourself to a really narrow gene pool of potential owners that way this news means that we finally have a real definitive end date for all this and its a win win for all involved, well except Fox, but its got soo many other problems right now this is just one more on a side note, fox should go in full hog and pick up the NHL tv deal to provide 4 nights of hockey a week on a normal cable network that most people carry like what ESPN used to do in the past hockey on versus is something nobody gets to really watch, i dont have that network they need to do something, and just like they got behind nascar and really pushed it hard and turned it into a cash cow for them... they could do the same with hockey this having a couple games a season on NBC or whatever is not going to spark a resurgence in the sport
Super stoked McCourt gets to pick the highest bidder and that Blackstone can send bids out to whoever they want without having to tell the MLB Kinda don't care if McCourt keeps the parking lots, it gives more incentive to a new owner to create better/cheaper ways of getting in and out of DS (the new bus system is awesome)
exactly and it looks like the wording on the agreement says that mccourt can develop the lost but only in ways that dont hurt the dodgers such as putting in a brand new multilevel parking garage that might end up being somewhat of an eye sore but might be worth it if it means some traffic/parking relief besides there are great things being done with parking garages lately i would love a parking garage with some kind of roof/terrace walkway that bridges the structure to an entrance into the stadium kind of like a long wide bridge/pier type of structure that also doubles as a type of park/green area midst all the concrete and asphalt you can have that be the crazy area for fans with water hazards and shit like other teams have in their parks... we can keep it outside the park in order to still retain the original feel of DS while still giving the people who want these new things a little bit of what they want
