yup, he'd mismanage their order but upper management would support him saying he's an employees' manager
I see what they're doing... play like shit and have all of MLB think you cant compete very well and then they go 11-0 in the post to bring home the ssshhhhhhiiiiipppppppp!!!!!!!?
Just as much as any other team. I know it's worn out take but I really do believe in anything happening in small sample size playoffs. The odds of any team winning the WS is pretty low. I dunno. Plus I mean with Kershaw/Greinke pitching the majority of the games that always helps.
what if, hypothetically... • we lost all 7 of our our remaining games • but the giants lost two to the rox giving us the division • only to get swept in the nlds by the mets, meaning we lost our last 13 games would dbb still keep his job?
i hear what you're saying you just have to get hot at the right time and here's a weird concept [albeit somewhat far fetched] that could be a benefit... wild card teams traditionally do well in the postseason because they often have to scratch and crawl to the very end with their backs to the wall lets say, hypothetically [i seem to be using that term a lot lately] that the giants sweep us and the rockies imagine how much pressure it'll put on those last couple games... not unlike the postseason i won't use the word momentum [even though i believe in it a bit], but it could put us in that wild-card type mind set damn i'm grasping at straws now ray:
I think also to be noted is the 4 day off break between Sunday and the NLDS starting on Friday. Anything that happens this week will probably feel like ages ago come next Friday. I dunno maybe I'm making up shit too. But think that would "kill any momentum."
my thing is that yeah, I'm not confident with the team right now, at all. Plenty of holes, my main concern is health. But lets be honest, would we even be super confident if we won like 30 games to close out the season? We'd still be worried about what if Kershaw chokes, what if the offense disappears, what if Hatcher, Baez and Avilan can't set up. Past teams for the Dodgers have gone into the playoffs in much better terms, and still gotten fucked up in the playoffs. The Giants and previous teams went into the playoffs shittier then the Dodgers are right now and won it all. It's dumb. I hate it. To steal something from blf, at the moment, it's about not getting too high and not getting too low. I can't be overconfident and pretend like everything is perfect, cause there is of course always a great chance of them not winning it all, it is what it is. But I can't get too low on the team cause, that seems unfair. I'm not saying this to call anyone out, but IMO, it's too easy to be 100% negative and low on the team cause it's win-win: If the Dodgers lose, well, everything negative turns out to be true. If the Dodgers win, get to bask it in. I was hoping the Dodgers would do better cause I want Home field advantage for selfish reasons. Now they're not. But it's been a successful season in some terms and now we have to stupidly wait for the playoff begins to make sense of anything.
Brett Anderson is gold... (arguing with a Rockies fan) @BrettAnderson35: @lovato_lisa your record still blows and your starting pitching is still atrocious...last place is confirmed for next year already...
I really have no idea what this team is trying to accomplish. If DBB wants to rest his main guys then how about we clinch the division first. Home field must not mean shit to them. Fucking embarrassing to get swept by the Rockies.
Ok, but that has nothing to do with their ability to come back in games or whatever you want to argue.
You know LA, I don't know what beef you have with me when you are posting comments like getting sick of this shit and not wanting to watch and whatever negativity you decide is appropriate. If you wear rose colored glasses all the time, then you are nothing but a hypocrite if you show ANY negativity. In fact I don't think YOU even truly believe this team has what it takes. You just take it out on other commenters.
