    - fixed... and yeah I know the minors seasons are over...

leading the free world between your ears? It's a fucked up delivery, plain and simple. that he gets away with it means that he gets away with it... nothing else. the better hitters are going "really? you gonna show me the rock the whole time and still think I'm not gonna slam it?" Maybe Paco has more balls than brains and likes taunting hitters... but that shit is gonna cost him... it always does.

And yeah I'd love Matty to hit well again but I'd put his ass in a cage until he had blisters on his palms as big as your own. Sending him up against MLB pitchers when he hasn't hit for shit in MONTHS is only giving away AB's... Yes, of course he needs the AB's... it's a matter of if we can afford them...

thought you'd been around the game a while?

Well obviously WE CAN AFFORD IT! Look at the standings lately Capn? You've been around even longer than I have, but apparently you're new too baseball.

Oh and as far as Paco...I can post the stats, but I'll let you wander around seemingly clueless about Paco's season...it's funny as shit.

We haven't clinched yet homey... and we've lost 8 of the last 11... so bringing in the guy who is 0-18 and giving him lots of AB's is a DBB recipe for no success which I'm sure you do support...

Well if we can't win 2 more games regardless of AZ not losing 2 games...then fuck this season anyway. I mean can we be realistic please?

    Well you did say please...

But when did realism have a place on the DSP boards? (you gotta admit I have a point there)

    No, the division is ours.
If you wanted to make a point why we shouldn't use Kemp, maybe claiming that you really really want best record/home field advantage in the post season. I'd then say, look at the other OF options we have though. The injury bug has us with a rookie named Buss and Skip Schumaker in the OF currently.

Have you ever seen Pacos windup from the hitters point of view? Sure, from our vantage point it looks like he's showing it but if the hitters can't hit it, it must be hard from their point of view.

He's had success and he's a good pitcher but it is concerning the type of stretch he's on.

Get him and Beli healthy and this bullpen is great, but don't overuse them these next two weeks.

But we NEED Hanley/Puig/Andre healthy. Hanley is the most important position player on this team, Ethier is a huge weapon vs. righties, and Puig is Puig.

Crawford/Kemp can platoon, and like i said in another thread, all I want is Kemp to be able to hit lefties. Anything else for this season is a luxury at this point.

Fuck we needa get healthy quick, but I do think if the playoffs were on Wednesday that Ethier and Hanley would be in the lineup. But man, it's scary to wait for health considering every time we get an injury it always takes them two weeks longer than usual to come back

Reserved Spot for the future Matt Kemp injury after tonights game where he gets one AB and in that one AB he swings so hard his arm rips off.

I think Kemp will be fine. his running will be suspect, but like I said, all we really need him for at this point is to be able to hit lefties well. Anything other than that is fucking gravy for this season, but for 2013 I think he can do that and have a positive impact on this team.

Just, similar to all the other big stars on this team, needs to stay healthy.

Kemp might not be activated tonight. Mattingly
says he looked tentative running bases pregame.
If he plays it'd be as a pinch hitter only

Billingsley thriving in recovery from Tommy John surgery
    By Ken Gurnick / MLB.com | 9/17/2013 1:50 A.M. ET

PHOENIX -- Dodgers right-hander Chad Billingsley, not even five months removed from Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery, is four weeks into a throwing program with stunning results.

"My arm probably hasn't felt this good since high school," said Billingsley. "When you're a teenager you pick up a ball and just start throwing, not worrying about having to loosen up. That's how it feels now for the first time since I was in my teens. I'm really happy with how it feels and the way it's going. They have to hold me back, it feels so good."

Billingsley said that in addition to transplanting a new ligament, doctors shaved a bone spur they believe was adding to his discomfort.

He's now playing catch at 90 feet and expects the distance to gradually increase. Without a setback, he hopes to throw off a mound around the first of the year and be ready for Spring Training.

"I'm sort of going week to week," he said of his rehab at Camelback Ranch-Glendale. "I'm competing each task and doing all the exercises. I'm looking forward to the mound, but I'm not going to rush."

Also visiting the clubhouse Monday was Scott Elbert, also recovering from Tommy John surgery and Shawn Tolleson, who had lower back surgery, then tore a muscle in his backside. He is participating in Instructional League and expects to pitch in the Arizona Fall League.

This has been a frustrating year for Hanley Ramirez.
When on the field, he has played as well as he ever has, batting .342 with 18 home runs and 53 RBIs. However, he has appeared in only 79 games thanks to a torn thumb ligament suffered during the World Baseball Classic plus hamstring, shoulder and now back issues over the course of the season.
    On the other hand ...
"I think it's been the best year in my career -- I'm going to the playoffs," Ramirez said. "I don't put negative stuff in my mind, brother. I'm happy to be here."
Ramirez was feeling happier Saturday than he had been in days. A persistent problem in his legs sent him to the bench during Thursday's game and left a disconsolate Ramirez hanging his head in the dugout as manager Don Mattingly patted him on the back.
An MRI on Friday diagnosed an irritated sciatic nerve in Ramirez's back as being the root of his problems. Ramirez had the same issue during the 2011 season with the Marlins and says it has bothered him off and on ever since.
"Back then, it was way worse," he said. "I could barely move."
Nonetheless, Ramirez said he declined a cortisone injection to treat the problem because "I'm afraid of needles." He went to the disabled list for two weeks instead.
This time, Ramirez received a cortisone injection Friday and is hopeful of playing again in the next few days. Despite the fact that the Dodgers should clinch the NL West any day, Ramirez is not interested in getting extended downtime to rest up for the playoffs.
"I'm not the same player when I take too many days off," he said. "Then, it takes time to get my rhythm, my timing back."
Ramirez said the back problem has been less of an issue this season because of the efforts of the Dodgers' medical staff. Among the treatments he has received to keep the nerve from flaring up is acupuncture -- something Ramirez was willing to endure despite his fear of needles that dates back to childhood.
"Before I got here, I didn't know about acupuncture. I didn't know about a lot of stuff," Ramirez said, calling Dodgers medical director Stan Conte and his staff "the best trainers in the world.
"Everything I've been able to do on the field this year has been because of the trainers."
