Uribe to the DL might be more serious than we think. If we sign Abreu, doesn't mean we DFA Kennedy since Uribe might go on the DL and we have a bench of Abreu, Gwynn, Sellers, Kennedy with Hairston everyday at 3B
Is there another guy who puts four LH in a row in the lineup? How about the offense-crippling insertion of Rivera behind Kemp today, making even Tracy a manager who can easily get around our strengths ; then, when you need your cleanup guy, PH for him with your lead off hitter...and pray for luck. Why make him your four hole guy then? So Kemp has no protection ...and you've got the ML RBI leader on the roster? So they can totally avoid pitching to him at all ? Hmmm... I guess there must be a huge pile of shit out there managing if they are doing stupider shit than this...OK, then. I just wasn't aware of this... Oh, and if something is stupid or sucks, because other teams have stupidity and suckitude too, that doesn't mean yours is OK. Yours is still stupid and still sucks...regardless.
It's real unusual, even somewhat idiotic, when the guy comes back from injury and in his PH/ bench stints previously, stunk up the place. I don't see the game like you do...and if this guy (DBB) makes an asshole move, that's the way I see it. That's what he gets paid for. Knowing his players and getting the best out of them. I'm not going to defend him if he shouldn't be, IMO. Not for the money these guys make...no way. I didn't wait until I saw the ridiculous results of having Rivera protecting Kemp today before I wrote about it...I posted immediately about it, so it wasn't hindsight. Were you watching? And why pinch hit for your cleanup hitter with a guy batting barely .200? No matter what happened (props to Dee), it's a bad BB move, and it always will be. Maybe wait until Rivera gets a hit or two before he goes "protecting" Kemp....just maybe let him heat up a little ? Talking about all the jerkoff managers there are "supposed" to be out there...I'm wondering how many pinch hit for their cleanup guy when his AB comes around in the ninth with men on? Unless he's injured...not too many I don't think. it's what they pray for isn't it ?
The Dodgers have so many weaknesses they have no business having a winning record much less being in first place. The bullpen can't be counted on. Only a few of the starting position players contribute on offense. Aaron Harang goes out there every 5th day and gets lit up. The bench is non-existent. How they've been winning so many games is beyond me. Sure I like their record but I'm having trouble understanding how exactly they're winning. Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier and A.J. Ellis carrying the team on its back is what I can come up with so far.
Ethier needs to be batting behind Matt. Period. Whether there is a lefty, righty, or ambidextrous on the mound.
